Vision:
The description of the image speaks for this section. The artist here wanted to redraw a screen cap of Wonder Woman, a well known female super hero. That's as far as it goes for the basic picture.
But then, there's something more, the image becomes a tribute as the artist expresses his liking for the character portrayed in the piece. the image now as a personal value which of course shows even more what was the vision and the original idea for the artwork.
Originality:
I-am-Knot here could have taken the easy route and just make a cleaner line art of the cap and recolored it, but he wanted to put a bit of himself in the painting.
Animation has a limited amount of details in it's character designs because it is not really time saving to add all of these details into each frame, so a bit of Wonder Woman's essence was lost in the process, tho she remains recognizable mainly through her iconic outfit. The artist decided to bring back that essence, that authenticity that the character is known for, so he altered the animation's design to his taste, which highlights a great sense of design with all of the effective detail placement. Good job.
Technique:
Overall this image pulls off lots of tricks and techniques that showcase the experience of the artist who successfully shows his mastery of light placement and shadows, as well as perspective, improving many points on which the screen cap was lacking. Good job again e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
Impact:
Finally, the impact of this illustration is very heavy, as it shows the artist's capability at bringing basic things like a mere screen cap to a gorgeous illustration succeeding at bringing it's subject matter to a new life. It's very fun to compare the two images and see how a seemingly flawless animation frame can be improved on many levels.
This was overall an amazing artwork, thanks for reading.

Woah! I really like this newer outfit! Less skin showing, but still very sexy! Has a lot of attitude, and most certainly looks much better than the usual "cleavage showing" incarnations.
My point is, usually it's better to have a super hero suit that covers more. Takes the attention off her boobs and throws it more to the rest of her. It makes her look more badass too. It's okay to have a sexy super hero, but "Sexiness" should be a very low priority, and should be a side effect OF being badass.
Lastly the replacement of the gold with more silver colors feels and looks so much more american. It allows the red to be that pop of warmth, and shifts the entire color scheme more to the blue side of the spectrum. Again, it looks fantastic.
BUT ANYWAYS, On to critiquing how YOU redrew this moment!
I like the subtle changes in anatomy that you made. Honestly, it would have looked really wonky had you done exactly as in the movie. You're shooting for a more realistic look, what else are you gonna do? XD
The folds in the suit look very realistic, and I love how you added more detail to the belt piece and the eagle on her chest. I also love the extra seams running along the center and the sides. Basically, your version looks not only better than in the movie, but also a lot more believable.
Lastly, the changes to the wrist-cuffs. Not much to say, but that's a good change. Looks far better than the movie version once again!
Can't really find any mistakes on this, your re-draw looks amazing. That's simply it.
Vision: You intended to redraw a scene of Wonder Woman in a cool new suit. You did just that, and you improved the design. 5 Stars.
Originality: There are redraws everywhere, and you pretty much just redesigned an already made design. However, the things you changed was creative in itself and also clever, making the suit look more believable. 3 stars.
Technique: Dude. The suit looks like it's made of leather, and looks believable. You could do a cosplay of this thing. The shading is amazing, the anatomy is amazing, the color is amazing. Everything is amazing. Need I say any more? 5 stars
Impact: If this was enough to make me want to right a 400+ word critique, then I think this deserves a 5 stars. :3 (Was originally gonna be a comment, then I saw that I could turn it into a critique ^^)

I prefer her new 52 one in the comics, but this is still a decent adaptation of it.

I see. I took a look at the 52 one. Honestly, Wonder Woman's costume always felt...silly to me. That part is how I feel, sorry. I like this Justice League War one because I feel I can take it more seriously. It looks more badass and tones down the sex appeal just a little enough that, for me, it's more of a happy balance.

I was talking bout the design, silly~ Look at this older Wonder Woman outfit. Nothing wrong with how much skin it shows, but I prefer this version because it seems to have more attitude.

You drew on top of the screenshot right? Is that called a repaint? I "repainted" over a picture but I don't know what the correct term is because I can't find work like this anywhere haha. It looks super good by the way.

Yeah, if the second image was how the movie looked, I'd watch it and buy it blindly. Not that first uninteresting, unappealing image made to rake in a quick buck.

I'm glad you like what I did with my version. But the original is not meant to rake in a quick buck. Animation takes time and requires being simpler.

Sure, but I'd much rather see a live-action movie than half-a$$ed DC direct garbage (not that Marvel's any better)... I just have come to hate "half-way" animation (half-way animation: made on a tighter budget than Pixar and the likes of 3D animation studios)

You did a great job in rendering this piece from flat animation to something with more life and realism to it.Β Love the skin tones to her hands, shoulders, and face.Β And the shadows as well as the flex added to the fabric of her uniform are very realistic.Β You've done well in making her far more believable.Β Its about time to get her out of that cheesecake costume.Β
