Thanks man, Iv always had it in my mind to do a series of 4, starting with Fionn, then OisΓn and his son Osgar and the St. Patrick, Fionn would be set in Spring, OisΓn in Summer, Osgar in Autumn and Patrick in Winter.
The whole thing is meant to show the decline of Celtic and Pagan belief descending into the winter of Catholicism.
Never get round to it though

Dude you should seriously consider picking up that project, sound like and lovely idea!

Altho i have to admit that i have always found Irish folklore/mythology rather confusing. I think it's because the names, they are so different in sound and al compared to what i'm used to. but i do enjoy it!

Perhaps I will

Ya, I have loved Irish mythology since I was a kid, but it can be very confusing, its so heavily laden with symbolism and its been translated and interpreted so many times its all over the place, but I still read it like crazy, lady gregorys irish mythology is my bible. I love reading it and trying to pick out the christian influences as the original stories were translated and copied by monks and they added their beliefs to it

yeah symbolism can be a bitch!

btw since you're Irish, may i ask you what the talk around Ireland is about the Scottish independence coming up?

like is there any talk about "old" conflicts start again or doesn't it affect you guys at all?

As far as I know man, there is none, I haven't anyone talk about it and I honestly know next to nothing about it myself. I do know people are trying to make it happen but I doubt it will go through, that would prevent a one world government now wouldn't it.

Beautiful composition and shading with the inks/watercolor. Nice touch with the salmon. Is that Ogham I see?

No problem! Ah, that's cool. I see it used once in a while but not often. I always enjoy seeing it - adds to the feeling of the piece.

thanks a bunch, made more sense than an irish guy getting chinese or japanese symbols anyway

At least you understand what's going on your skin and you know it doesn't mean 'foreigner' or 'sex kitten' or god-forbid some weird Asian mishmash that makes Chinese or Japanese people look at you strangely. (That's also some run-on sentence). XD

If I had a tolerance for pain, I'd probably want a tattoo that I understand, too. It's more meaningful that way (I do like the Irish proverbs, though. Some of your curses are downright hilarious, too).

We are good at cursing people I actually got that tattoo done traditionally, the poke method I think it was called and I found it far less painful than the machine, it healed up quicker too.
