Beautiful! Friends of mine operate a wolf and raptor rehabilitation center about 4 miles from my house. They also give educational tours to the public. It's really a neat place. Looks like this one is too! Great shot!

It's a real nice place, with a LOT of land, as you can imagine. They are still in the process of getting the place up and running, since they just moved from their other farm to this bigger one, a while back. it's all grant funded, or out of pocket for the owners. they do a fantastic job. And, they really care. That's what makes it so special!

Sounds wonderful!!! I live near a wolf sanctuary in Lucerne, California...which is where my deviant ID was taken...and while the owners do the best they can, it's not the best place for wolves to live year round. It gets to be over 115 degrees in the summer, and with all that thick fur, the wolves have a hard time. They're trying to relocate, but it takes money, etc. But without them, who knows what would have happened to those wolves!!!

I can understand about the money problem, thing. Our local sanctuary runs solely on donations and funds received from grants that they have to write and have approved by our local government. Plus, I know they put a lot out of their own pocket into running the sanctuary, too. Sometimes, they are able to get fresh road kill (I know...that sounds gross, but, the wolves and bears love it) to feed the animals, so, that they are getting food that is closer to what their natural diet would be. The guys that work on the county roads pick it up and bring it to the sanctuary, so, that works out really good. It's a very interesting place and very educational. I learn something every time I go!
