Critic's note: I am currently writing this in a local brewery/restaurant/music hole, so I may be a little more brief than usual.
Vision: I always like it when people take another's work as inspiration and create good artwork with it, and Carrot Top really needs more attention outside of the "Derpy emptied your fridge" meme.
Originality: Overall, pretty good, and I liked the addition of the Mare in the Moon. That does however, bring up an interesting question; does this take place before Luna's return, or did she get sent back, or what? That is sort of left ambiguous to someone who hasn't heard the song (I'll listen to it in a less crowded place, don't worry), and while it would be easy to take a rough stab at the time frame, a little more clarification would be nice.
Technique: Great job as usual, and the fade from black in the sky to indigo near the horizon was a clever touch. All I could say is that I think Carrot Top has lines in her tail that are similar to her mane, and the balcony doesn't seem as ornate as one would imagine it.
Impact: I did like the piece, don't get me wrong, but there could be just a little more going on in it. A shooting star would have been a great little addition, but now I'm just nit-picking.
Overall: A nice piece highlighting a mare that really needs some more love, with only a few nits as far as content and technique are concerned. Keep up the good work!

Thanks again! oh god.. i cant tell you how much time Nimble (the person who mixed the song) and I spent ON THAT BALCONY!!! We finally were just like "SCREW IT! IM MAKING IT LAME!!" lol so i just made it all one color and added some shadows.. i know im a failure!! and as for the moon i tried my hand at adding craters and i SUCK! so i used that guys Moon... it was either that or just a white ball..

I see... Well, good job for your effort on the balcony, but unless this takes place before Luna came back, then the mare in the moon really detracts from it, and is a bit distracting. Feel free to keep it if you want, but that's just my opinion.

Lol thanks! This art cover is for the song "Above Her Courtyard" which is a remix of the song "Beyond Her Garden" and in that song it talks about how she tries and just can't succeed so I figured I would incorporate that into the art.
