First off I would like to say that this image for your first comeback image is pretty darn good! I do like it!
However:
The highlights in the hair are too low, giving it a flat, dull look when compared to the eyes and the cutie mark.
Although the hat is in the air, there is a lack of motion when it comes to Iron Sides himself. He looks like he's been waiting there the whole time for the hat to fall on his head.
While most of your shading and lighting is excellent, that hind leg is bothering me. The highlight seems out of place when compared to the rest of the picture. His face doesn't have any extreme highlights like the rest of his body does, either.
All in all though, I think this is a really great picture, I do get what you're going for, and that is always a plus.
Can't wait to see more of your work!

From the title, I was expecting Dr. Who references.
Is his hat in motion? It looks a bit odd with his hat up there and his mane perfectly still. I do like this, though, I have a thing for paint.
