global menu how?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

iacoporosso In reply to Molkos03 [2012-11-05 08:56:19 +0000 UTC]

in gnome fallback session just tipe ''sudo apt-get install indicator-applet-appmenu'' in terminal and then ALT + right click (if that doesn't work, use ALT + SUPER + right click) on the panel, select "Add to panel" and add "Indicator Applet Appmenu".

gnome fallback...
how to do that bro ??

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

iacoporosso In reply to ATHRANZ [2012-11-04 19:21:58 +0000 UTC]

the shadow under the pannel should be as default setting, u can control with 'Compiz config setting manager' under 'window decoration', but i use Emerald to control shadows and decoration.

iacoporosso In reply to CraazyT [2012-11-03 13:50:26 +0000 UTC]

i think so but i'm not sure man!![link] , I think it's easier starting from Ubuntu 12.10 GNOME Remix

Im using 12.10 remix in fallback mode

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

CraazyT In reply to leoatelier [2012-11-03 14:01:15 +0000 UTC]

Sweet! I used to use fallback when I was using gnome but kde and be::shell is what fits with me. I get the globalmenu and able to tweak it just the way I want

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

leoatelier In reply to CraazyT [2012-11-03 14:06:08 +0000 UTC]

I have tried Kde and be::shell... really nice but I always come back to gnome in the end. There is a global menu in fallback - appmenu indicator.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

CraazyT In reply to leoatelier [2012-11-03 14:11:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I always used more qt and kde apps than gtk so it just was a fit plus I got tired of trying to make themes that worked for all the shells. That's sweet! is there development on those plugins still?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

leoatelier In reply to CraazyT [2012-11-03 14:21:42 +0000 UTC]

Do you mean the old global menu bar? They stopped the development somewhere in 2010 and the appmenu indicator it comes with Ubuntu as default

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

CraazyT In reply to leoatelier [2012-11-03 14:24:02 +0000 UTC]

Ah yeah sorry been outta the loop on ubuntu for a while I remember appmenu now duh! so your able to use appmenu in fallback with no issues?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

leoatelier In reply to CraazyT [2012-11-03 14:26:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I have no trouble in using it.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

CraazyT In reply to leoatelier [2012-11-03 14:27:54 +0000 UTC]
