Description Big Horn Sheep Ram.
Its not often you find them in such green surrounds as they like to spend the majority of there time up on high cliff edges where there fantastic footing keeps them safe from all brave enough to venture the loose rocky cliffs they reside upon.

I made myself some paper mache horns that look almost identical to those! (I've been meaning to upload a pic them but I haven't since, well, I need to attach them to the cap first >.< )

Anywho, great shot! I love the detail (especially in the horns and fur) as well as the layers -- the grass, the ram, the blurred background -- just awesome!

that lens has spoiled me so much that I use it every excuse I get I was shooting full length portraits with it the other day lol...I had to be 80 or more feet away from the couple i was shooting...but the sharpness was worth it....even my other 'L' Lenses are not even close in sharpness its a horrible addiction i tell ya!

"Here's my good side" lol funny little guy. Great capture though! Was he relaxing in the grass or just wandering around?

he is actually climbing a steep but grassy hillside thus his legs are hidden.

nice one, thats an interesting looking ram... it a nice set of horns but its neck and face arent as thick as you normally see on a ram of that size.

Iamidaho In reply to Nate-Zeman [2008-06-26 01:18:15 +0000 UTC]

he was in a intresting place to be as well, in a low slung valley far from any rocky slopes, I was quite puzzled at where he was. Perhaps he has enjoyed an easy life and needs a bit of weight training to 'bulk' up...

Yeah, the ones where I am seem to have their horns more outward than closer to the head. Weird.
