I love people watching. Especially in book stores. You get the most interesting people. Good work.

I always liked this one. Definitely a worthy feature, as are most of yours. Ha! I love the grumpy dude in the suit and chucks, like some asshole cousin of David Lynch.

The title is what makes this. If I may suggest a book to you, Robert Putnam's "Bowling Alone" talks about America's social decay, based on the iPod and if it were written more recently, the iPhone. He says electronics are driving us apart, and convenience is making us lazy to communicate in person.
I especially think this is true with the iPhone. The "i" implies personal, not "us". "I" as in personal, phone as in communication. Personal communication, which literally means talking to one's self. Our phones are now word processors, recorders, music players, cameras, and computers all in one. It's becoming hard to see the phone under all that mess, and thus it's becoming harder to communicate through all of these wires, or lack thereof.

You know, I like this picture because it depicts our current society very well, and, if I may say so, a bit disturbing. Now that I think on it, I've seen many similar scenes around campus and in other places, but not many where people were completely by themselves like there. There's always at least one or two little groups of people, at least sitting together if not conversating.
But really, our society seems more and more icolated, what with busier lifestyles and technology to aid in boxing us off from eath other. We are all together, yet none of us are together. Our focus is not on a community as a whole, but rather the self.
