her calmness and serenity, somehow "ignoring" the pain, taking it inside and not showing it.
be it zen meditation or catholic self-torture, it makes no actual difference in this case.

Wow. This has a slight "retro" look to it while adding in a very modern look. I have been dreaming of doing a series like these. I have the models and hair/makeup & clothing folks. Just deciding on location.

YIKES (again). I think the graininess of this works really well, as does the slight soft focus. It gives it a sense of motion.
What I love is the concept of these piercings. That the bars cover her eyes in such a beautiful way....it's like, we can blind ourselves to reality, even with beautiful blinders, but we're still blind, and that's awful. We need to see the evil. Without it, we can't know the good.
