Fantastic image. I'll assume you used a polarizer ?

Thanks - yes, I did use a polarizer

Do you experience many issues with uneven polarization during dawn/dusk?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ian-Plant In reply to psyfre [2010-12-01 21:38:11 +0000 UTC]

You have to be careful working with a polarizer and a wide-angle lens at any time of the day, as it is wide angles that create uneven polarization in the sky. The amount of polarization varies depending on your angle away from the sun (90 degrees gives you mazimum polarization), so with a wide angle lens the left side of your image frame ends up being at a significantly different angle away from the sun than the right side of your image frame, hence you can get uneven polarization. The effect is minimized if you are shooting directly toward or away from the sun.

Thanks Ian! I haven't been much landscapes lately, not as much as I wish I could be anyway. Hopefully get the 5DMK2 soon, that will drag me out of the house, I'll be dying to take some new shots
