My contest entry for contest. It had to be a traditional work, and because I have a love-hate relationship with colored pencils I decided to give watercolors a try. For a first time, I'm pretty content with the result, although I feel it could have been better.Because I don't have an OC, I decided to draw our two favorite Vocaloids. IA is on the right, Luka is on the left.
I took me an total of 6 hours, and 5 pages of discarded sketches. Sometimes I hate my perfectionism. Anyways, because I still wanted to make it to the original deadline, I pulled an allnighter again. But totally worth it.

The anatomy looks well done, however you might want to look a the faces again, the mouth and noses on Luca and IA look a bit off they need to center up with the chin (Learned from past experience) Luca's hand looks a bit small too. I really like the shading, just remember light source is key. Also if these two are the main "spotlight" you need to make them stick out better, not sure that was scanner problem or not, but they look a tad blended with the back ground to me.

Oh my, my first critique! /)^3^(\ Well, let's give it a go.
They are both well drawn and you got the anatomy right, but you might want to watch Luka's nose again; it could be a bit more centered, but overall the shadows and stuff are well-placed, I really like their hair and clothing, the drawing is well-balanced, especially with the difference in their poses and the mirroring of colours, and you can see that you've got talent. One tip: to enhance the drawing, you could add some character-specific attributes in the background and some musical notes for the people who don't know Vocaloid (Luka's my favourite :3)

Thank you, I'm gratefull you took the time to critique my drawing ^-^. I noticed indeed that I still have some difficulties with drawing faces in an almost-side angles. Time for more practice!

Thanks ^-^. Ik vind digitaal wel makkelijker, omdat je dan meteen kunt gummen. Nu moet je eerst wachten tot de verf droog is, en dan met wit eroverheen >_<". Volgende keer doe ik wel weer kleurpotloden denk ik.

Agreed, elke manier van tekenen heeft wel z'n voordelen en nadelen. Het ligt er maar aan waar je ervaring mee hebt ^-^.
