There's a lot piled up around your waist, there's also a lot of layers, it's hard to walk and it's quite warm. For Shiemi, I wear a yukata slip, Juban, and the kimono (which is very heavy). The kimono folds around the waist, to create that fold you see under the obi. There are a few ties holding those together, tight against my waist. Then there is a obimakura with a obiage also tied around. There is the obi as well as a hard obi stabilizer (kind of like a piece of plastic) also around the waist. So, it's basically impossible to move my waist, or walk.

Haha wow. I have to look at your Shiemi costume in a whole new light now. They all make you look like you're completely at peace and serene (just like Shiemi is in exorcist), rather than someone thinking "Urk... I can't move... just take the picture so I can get out of this thing!"

Yukata are made out of cotton, are much thinner, and you don't wear a juban underneath! that's the easiest way to tell
