Description
Hesperornis regalis, a large flightless aquatic bird from the Late Cretaceous. Some lineages of modern aquatic birds carry chicks on their backs, including loons, grebes and various waterfowl, so I have followed suit in this drawing.Related content

Nice! That's actually great speculation, since considering the hind-limb anatomy of Hesperornis doesn't really suit to terrestrial locomotion. Taking the babies to the sea right after hatching would be a valid strategy.
