Description A Side Blotched Lizard-this is one of my favourite images.
This is actually cropped from the original, but I still love it, I have half a dozen shots of this fellow, he kept moving about. Ain't he cute?

Nice shot but it could have been better if you'd have changed the focus spot on your camera to bring the eye/head into focus like the middle section. Great shot, just nit picking. Almost impossible to consider things like that in the heat of the moment. (-:]

I didn't even notice the head was out of focus in the original, this is actually zoomed in and cropped, the background details of the original just sorta, drowned out the lizard. It wasn't till I cropped it and adjusted the levels and such that I even noticed it was partly out of focus.
Also, with a point-and-shoot camera, I'm not sure how to change the focus spot.

I don't believe you have that option with the 100 IS. Might be fun to play with the face detection and see if it can pick out a lizards face. For a P&S, that's a wonderfully clear and sharp image. Using the smaller focus area option might be useful but on my Canon P&S there is little difference between large and small focus area. Cool lizard at any rate!

Sometimes I luck out with the point-and-shoot and get really good, clear images.

Nice lizard. They can be hard to photograph since they're so fast.

This one happened to suddenly pause for a few seconds allowing me to get off a few shots. Ironically enough, the photos I took with the small point-and-shoot camera turned out better than the ones my aunt got with her really expensive one, but it kept moving for her. It ran off shortly afterwords though.
