Without a doubt a lovely and beautiful image and model with a conposition that seems to work well.

I am not sure if the viewer or the subject is under the spell - I found it could work both ways for me.

I find the background interesting without being distracting and helps create the effect bringing it forward while the lower contrast model recedes which is an interesting and unusual effect.

I find the bright triangle on the right distracting and could see any significance or benefit.

I consider that a lower would increase the impact of the subject's face and expression giving a more pleasing balance to the picture. However it would lose the space and diminish the effect of the back ground. My preference would have been to crop it.

I find with the fingers of her left hand being angled into her cheek and the high contrast of her thumbnail that it seems a little awkward and interupts the flow of my eye. The fingers pointing into the cheeks seems a little agressive in what seems to be a soft and pleasant image.

Finally I am not sure I like the overall low contrast, especially around her right arm. I think I would have preferred a slightly higher contrast.

These are just my thoughts on the pciture which I did find lovely enough to want to see more of and appreciated the time and effort that went into it.

Lovely and stimulating work as usual

John

"I consider..." "However it would lose the space and diminish the effect"..."My preference would have been to"
It's supposed to be a critique, not an online forum discussion or an art gallery conversation with some colleagues.

"I find...interupts the flow of my eye."
Are you kidding me? I find with the way you spell "interrupt" in a critique about the effect of a picture that interrupts the flow of your eyes as only a 4/5 on Impact a little bit on the hilarious side.

"The fingers pointing into the cheeks seems a little agressive in what seems to be a soft and pleasant image."
And there's no appreciation at all or even a hint that you recognize this train of thought in your own head of um, how in the world did the photographer manage that? Ignorance, pure nonconstructive ignorance.

"Finally I am not sure I like the overall low contrast, especially around her right arm. I think I would have preferred a slightly higher contrast.
Why does this sound like a girl to girl emotional bullying about personal preferences in order to slander someone else? How about I am not sure I like the overall depiction of your pregnant nude woman with head cut off in a dark light of your icon as an artist who advertises "lets arrange to take some photographs."?

"These are just my thoughts on the pciture " "which I did find lovely enough"
And exactly in which one of the absolutely degrading descriptions and opinions of this piece you've spoken has you proven this facade of appreciation?

Lovely and attention seeking self proclaimed critic as usual

love your photography, just love it! want to say 2-3 things that I believe make you such a f***ing great photographer and I do mean this with sincerity. for the sake of comparison, your subjects in particular your models are so good at NOT being aware OR unaware of the camera. they are totally (seemingly) involved in the setting and/or emotion you seem to wish them to be in. This is decided by the environment of the shot which is creatively vague or detailed with simple props. I love that! And I must say they are very beautiful women too, very timeless beauties. for all of this to result in stunning images there must be a great rapor btw model and photographer. plenty of trust, vision and truth along with imagination. Thanks for your wonderful vision and thoughtfulness. best of luck in the coming years.

I really like the pose and the strong emotion captured in the model's expression.
I'm not sure about the gradient overlay tho.. The decrease in contrast in that area is a bit distracting.

But otherwise an amazing photo.

Beautiful piece of work. I love a shot like this, you could crop it to just above her breast and still it's a beautiful shot. Aisii is such a lovely model. Beauty like hers comes from the soul, it can't be just skin deep.

Not sure i my critique will be as comprehensive as Passions....but Passions....is passionate Not to say I'm not....but here we go...

First, the Model, she is unbelievably stunning! beautiful!
Second, the composition is great....nice angles...my eye travels from Center (face), then top left, to bottom right..so I felt there was nice flow to the piece.
Third, I like the transition from Sepia to an almost b/w feel...even though it's probably just a lower tint of sepia in the bottom right..(which also helps the eye movement)

more on a critique level, I do agree with Passion about the high contrast of the satin, it almost looks alluminum...suggestion, tone/blur it down a notch. The only other thing I would do would be to create a bit more contrast in the models face, keep the sepia....just pump up the brightness/contrast a bit and I think the two minor adjustments might make this piece!

just my opinion...art is subjective of course....great piece pacsaman!

The pose is almost entranced, eyes looking through the lens. Nice use (again) of reds and shades. Is the cock of the wrist an echo of the eyebrow?

I like the choice of the background because her weight causes horizontal angles and shadows. Together with curves, circles and half-circles, this has many simple details, but the "disappearing point" for me are the eyes.

Overall, nicely composed and easy on the eyes as we say around here.

I don't know how long you two have worked together, but it shows.
