Just totally ignore DA's Terms of Service by posting porn - that will get you some negative attention, not only from me but from others who don't want to see DA's Artistic Nude gallery turned into a porn site.

You see, "Mark", there are a gazillion porn sites out there on the web; a ton of which encourage people to post pornographic pictures of themselves. DA is a very rare place where artist can post non-pornographic nudes in their attempts to produce Art. It's sad and frustrating when people totally ignore the rules DA has implemented in an attempt to prevent this wonderful gallery from being taken over by porn. More and more frequently we are seeing pornographic pictures [link] being posted with comments that indicate that both the person posting the image and many of the viewers are not here for artistic reasons. There are places on the web that are set up specifically for this purpose - DA is not one of them. To me, people who abuse DA's Artistic Nude gallery in this way are either so self-absorbed that they just don't care about the purpose of this gallery, or they are so unthinking that they can't comprehend that we are not visiting this gallery to admire their erection. I have no respect for either.

Thanks for visiting my gallery. I would like to invite you to actually read some of the comments that go with each drawing.

Oh, and by the way, I majored in art in college then worked as a professional artist for about 20 years. Yes, it's been a few years and I'm in the process of relearning, but the issues you sight are not the issues these drawings have. There ARE proportion problems and that's an area that I continue to work on (and improve at), but perspective? Continuity? I think you have a really bad case of sour grapes. (Was that you that I called out for posting porn?)

After viewing YOUR gallery, I noticed that there are two somewhat decent photographs; the rest are snapshots and I also noticed no drawings at all. You lack credibility, my friend.

Every body has the right to post what ever they want. They don't deserve to be ridiculed. I was just trying to show you that. I really didn't look closely at your work. As you didn't look closely at theirs. True?

You state "Every body has the right to post what ever they want." Well, I guess you haven't bothered to read the Terms of Service either. Erections, along with other forms of pornography (as defined by DA in their FAQ #565) are prohibited. So maybe you could check out this [link] before you make an utter fool of yourself.

In case you're too lazy, here is the relavent portion:

"• Erections.
There should be no use of imagery depicting a male erection that a reasonable person would believe is intended to elicit a sexual response."

The bottom line is that DA is not a porn site. It is not a site to post pictures of your erection to try to impress someone and boost your ego or get yourself off by thinking about someone looking at your penis. When people post porn here it degrades the whole site and makes it less attractive to people who want to experience art, in particular, artistic nudes. What we are seeing is more and more people that are visiting to see the sex (as evidenced by their comments) and fewer and fewer to see the art. It's sad because DA is a unique artistic resource that is being slowly but surely destroyed by this type of activity. There are tons of sites where this type of image is exactly what they are all about. Can't we leave just one website dedicated to art? Must it also be degraded to being just another porn site? DA put those rules into place to try to prevent that from happening.

I appreciate the beauty of the human body - both male and female. And I appreciate all of it - face, hands, legs, and yes even the genitals - male and female. But unfortunatly good artistic images of male nudes are few and far between. Most of them posted here are simply a lame statement such as, "Hey look everybody! I've got a penis!" or "Hey, watch how I can play with myself." This is very disappointing because there is so much potential that is wasted.
