Description This has long been awaiting a title. Then a new blog post from Paul Laffoley Fans provided the hook that I needed to hang this on. It had always brought to mind some kind of hyperspatial field, but the idea of time-travel via local distortion of the space-time field hit the mark.

Requiring ultra-high quality to bring out the detail, this is therefore unsuitable for print-size rendering... until computing power advances an order of magnitude

I've entered a staring contest with your deviations.

... I think I'm going to lose.

Great!! This one would be worse than the 40 hour one you did??

It would! I hate to think how long, given that the quality was, I think, 10000...

Would it lose that much if you lowered the quality?? Just wondering. This would be a great print.

I seem to remember that the finest detail became grainy. Shame

sweeeeet texture, I really appreciate how the lines spiraling out aren't perfectly arched/ identical to those preceding. Not sure if that explains it properly...but..I like it.

Thanks! Yes, it certainly does You've hit one of fractals' essences there: fractals, like genes through the dimension of time, don't simply reproduce identically down the dimension of scale. Small fluctuations due to inter-scalar resonances create the diversity that makes them objects of fascination as well as complexity... I think

"unconventional curves" - love the phrase, and I know exactly what you mean: rather than being rigid, they possess a billowing quality
