So I happened to have half my head shaved when the new champ Vi came out. I loved everything about her, so I knew I had to make this costume for Dragoncon this year. The fingers move on the gloves, and the red/blue gems light up. Overall I'm happy with how this costume came out, now I just need to learn to do a better job when I play as Vi.Photo by : www.facebook.com/josephchilinpβ¦

I got a lot of questions about the IV instead of VI. The photo is not flipped. If you look at the rest of the costume everything is on the correct side. I shaved half my head before VI was ever a champ. Then when VI came out I knew I had to do the costume, but I wasn't going to shave the rest of my head. So I choose to mirror her tattoo at this con. I think in the next photo shoot I do, I will have it read Vi int he correct direction. But it was not a mistake. I actually was calling this my "IV" costume, and thought it was funny. I knew I would get questions about it, but I wasn't that worried about it. If the direction of the tattoo ruins the costume for you I'm really sorry. I hope you can look past it at all the work I did on everything else, and enjoy it as much as I do!

Cool Cosplay and by far the best Vi (Sorry, IV) Cosplay I have seen so far! Admiring this for very long time now! I love the colours you have chosen, especially the hair colour is so gorgeous. And that corsage! Totally fitting. What I like most ist that although everything looks so feminin (well, everything is pink, lilac, you are wearing a corsage etc.) you totally look badass! Love your expression on this one!
But hm. May I ask a question? I am really curious about the joints of your gauntlets. They look so like the original design and I read that you made them out of wood and plastic but, my god, I can't imagine how. Any chance that you could explain that a bit?

I love your Vi cosplay so much, what did you make the gauntlets out of? I plan on using cardboard and eva foam for the main body

The gauntlets are EVA foam, the joints are wood and plastic with lots of lube to allow for ease of movement. The red bolts on the knuckles and blue jems are tinted and cast resin with LEDs set behind them so they light up.Β Inside the hands is a system of pulls so the fingers would move with mine.Β I hope that helps a bit!
