Here's the Ed I promised for my friend . Hope you like it
.Transmution circle done in Illustrator. Originally I was going to use the transmutation circle found on wikipedia but then I realized it was the human transmutation circle and it would be weird if Ed just randomly started doing that XD. Anyhow I'm no expert on this and have no idea what the tranmutation circle I used would be for.
If the eyes were blue, the face probably make a good Naruto EDIT: Bigger body as per critique.
EDIT2: I seem to have made an error with the transmutation circle as I used the movie poster picture for ref(I haven't seen the movie). So for those of you who saw it please disregard the mistake <_<. It looks cool though I think ._.
EDIT3: Hopefully this is the final edit. I don't know why people have so much complaints about the shoulders, you can't even see the in the previous verison o.O.

Beautiful picture of Edward! Your perportions are very good and the anatomy is dead on. His epression is very serious, somewhat cold, but his eyes give his demenor the efect that under it all he's sad. I'm not sure if that's what you intended, but that's what I see.
I like how you've made his hair and the lines of his black shirt very defined, yet the folds and lights/shadows contrast of his jacket are very soft, and not so harsh. It makes the overall image more balanced and easier to look at without straining the eyes.
Overall, a very beautiful piece of work, and very well constructed.

the photoshop painting looks really well done....but if you want a more relaxed look than a forced look I would have one of your friends pose for reference for you....that's what I do...it also helps with proportions instead of trying to base it off of the cartoon. and for the clothing I guess for the shirt you could reference from a priest out fit for folds in the clothing and what not...and then just a regular robe for the red cloak he wears. the folds in clothing need to look more natural than forced
