The old sanctuary was crumbling, only still standing because of some ancient magic that kept it from falling apart. Strange spells still shined brightly in the evening sunlight.
In the distance she could see the castle. At this time of day it would be busy there, with courtiers and servants preparing for the evening meal. But here it was quiet.
All she could hear was the wind rustling through the leaves, and, if she listened very carefully, the velvet sound of fluttering butterfly wings.

A contest entry / late birthday present for LenamoArt Your character is so beautiful, I couldn't resist!

I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with this new 'flat but shaded and textured' style, or whatever it is XD It's great fun. I may have gone a bit overboard with the details here though haha. And obviously there is a lot wrong with the perspective. I'm currently at this annoying stage in my art-development where I can see that I'm doing something wrong, but I'm not quite sure how to fix it But in spite of this, overall I'm quite happy with the end result ^^

The character depicted here is Ayediah, an Elf Mage. There was no detailed description of her outfit or the world she lives in, so I just let my imagination run wild ^^ I hope you like it!
