Every year, there's a Zombie walk organized in my city. It's free, everyone zombies up and walks for three hours from the selected entrance of a cemetery, through the downtown core grunting and stumbling in a zombie-like fashion, to end up in front of the Parliament buildings. This year was my first time attending, and I had a blast. My friend and I dressed up as zombie nurses (I didn't have time to make a whole nurse outfit, so I purchased a shirt and ironed on some red crosses). I made a nurse's hat, and wore tights onto which I drew some veins. Everyone seemed to appreciate the eyeball. Heck, I almost like it too.Related content

That sucks! It was almost canceled here because teenagers just get drunk and put fake blood all over store windows and stuff. They make a mess. Now the police have to regulate it, and they are charging a fee to watch over the zombie walk. I hate teenagers. They ruin everything.

I think there's one in the city I'm moving to. It's usually about Oct/Nov from what I've heard and I can't wait. I did zombie make up for a non-uniform day at college and my tutors went ballistic lol

How did you do the eye make-up?

It's a latex prosthetic, which I glued on my face and then covered with makeup. It took three hours or so to do it... When you buy them from costume stores, the instructions are usually on the back. This was a little close to my real eye to put spirit gum, it wasn't a very good idea. But to cover up the "seam" I used liquid latex, which you can also buy at costume stores.

OH! sorry, that is part of the latex appliance; it's a black mesh that I can still see through. I have horrible depth perception and no peripheral view, but it was awesome. It's quite similar to the fabric they use for basketball jerseys, in fact!!

I think I can pull off the zombie hottie, but even as I was applying the eyeball... I just couldn't make myself quite ugly enough! I'm not just being egotistic, it just wasn't working. I'm not the oatmeal-in-the-face kinda person. I'll stick to 18th century costumes

Well, you certainly had an eye out for an interesting idea, and you got it dead to rights. Perhaps for next year's zombie stagger, you could do an 18th Century zombie - no doubt you could dig up some interesting reference material somewhere?

ha ha ha nice one. I thought about that, and really, I spend so much time on my 18th century dresses that it makes me a little ill to think about getting fake blood on one. The fabric is so darn expensive no matter what kind it is, that it'd have to be cheap broadcloth for me not to care, and even then. I'd still care.
