i do see where the color does look off actually in photoshop do color variations try decreasing blue once, and adding red once. cause her hair is red u should base it off that and her skin once u see the right shade of red in her hair the coloring should be right. like i said one and one should even it out . the colors given here actually make her look lifeless er dead? but the photo itself is very pretty and i love the idea of using a real octopus on her thats sweet

looking back, i would have edited this picture completely different. her skin to me is too pink, and the pinks and magentas of the octopus look glowing like they were nuclear radiation, but not in a good way, unfortunatly, because that sounds neat. there is some weird green shadows going on on her hand? haha, i would have done this way diff. thanks for the advice. when editing, i base the colors of the photo off of the skin tone, and not her hair, though, here it may work because her hair really was a vibrant red. i think i messed with the color because of this colorful red, because it allowed me to have a twisted perspective of what the colors were in the image, and unfortunatly i distorted it the colors a little much. I should have toned it down. Thanks for the advice! I think it'd be good advice

haha, nah, i welcome constructive criticism i used a canon rebel xti. also, i didn't use strobes for this (which is probably another reason for the distortion of colors), as it was done with a flash and a poster board on my side porch with sunlight. I would like to redo this theme again, cause it was so fun and i have grown a lot more as a photographer, cause now i can expand on the idea of the grotesque but beautiful in the way that i origionally imagined, and esp now that i have a 5D and actual strobe lighting, it'd make such a big difference from my rebel and flash

i went to an asian market. i'm pretty sure any asian store will carry things like this.... they even had stingray lookin things and whole ducks in cling wrap...including the eyeballs. not to mention, its pretty cheap. i bought two fairly large squid, a box of baby octopi, and one large octopus, for $18
