I've been meaning to do this for ages and ages. Originally I'd intended to do full body drawings of all three versions of Fettel but...well, I'm lazy okay? >____> So I went with headshots, woo!I did this for two reasons.
One, to attempt (and fail) at drawing Fettel in all his incarnations.
Two, to ask the F.E.A.R fandom this question:
Which version is your favorite?
Probably best not to use this picture as a point of reference since I SUCK ASS.
What I want to know is peoples opinions on the three different designs, based only on his physical appearance, not his outfit or his personality. Which is your fav and why?
Me personally I'm torn between the F.E.A.R and F.E.A.R 2 designs, with a slight lean towards the F.E.A.R 2 version. I'm not too sure what happened between the two games, design wise. I see a lot of people baffled and a bit 'turned off' by his older appearance in Reborn. But for me, I like this redesign. The reason for the redesign between games is of course unknowable to anyone outside the design team. But I'd like to think it's a reflection of everything he's been through in his strange life. I can easily believe that his traumas, both in childhood and early adulthood, likely aged him far beyond his years.
The other reason I like his appearance in Reborn could just be that, well...I've always liked older men. x_X Heeeeeee.
Feed my curiosity everyone!
On a side note:
WHY IS F.3.A.R FETTEL SO MUCH MORE FUN TO DRAW THAN THE OTHER TWO?!?!?! >(

He looks totally like "meh I don't even care" all the way through Reborn. He ran out of fucks to give I guess. XD

Humm humm, lemme think. Well, I used to like 3's better, I'm torn between 3 and 1, though I think I like 1 better (yay for the lip scar 8D ). Sadly, I found 2 rather... unfitting, he just seemed far too old to me to be the same Paxton. Though I still wander what colour his eyes are. I mean, F.E.A.R. starts with a closeup of one of his greenish eyes (I think they're his, at least), and then in the 3rd they look almost blue. ARGH >.<

His eyes are definitely blue. The shade of blue differs between the games and they do sometimes look more green in certain lighting.

Ah, another new difficult thing about him: choosing what shades his eyes should be in different lighting. It's like they don't want accurate fanart

i definitely like 1 and 3, sadly 2's was a bit of a disappointment in terms of both appearance and what little we get of him. 3's expressions and snarky behsvior were so fun, though I hste the outfit. 1's mannerisms and his clothes were smexy as hell.
I'm glad that they at least kept peter lurie as his voice!

I do wish we saw more of him in 2. =/ You only really see him once properly. The rest is just brief glimpses and his voice in your head (nice voice though it is!). The only thing that bothers me about his appearance in 2 is the SUDDENLY OUT OF NOWHERE BROWN HAIR! That and the paler eyes he has are a bit...meh. I like his icey blue eyes from the original best.
What kills the 3rd for me is the simple fact that he's just not creepy. At all. So many of his lines in the first game made me go "o___o Wait wut? Did he just say that? *uncertain snigger*". His general weirdness is so alluring to me. It's not supposed to be, but it is. XD

have you sen the fear 1 file for his face? i originally thought it couldn't be him,but then saw how many layers were hidden. lighting and all the bump maps really created something amazing. i have to wonder if the devs didn't use those layers for him in 2.

Could be. It's surprising how much of the detail on a 3d model is not on the model itself, but on the mapping/lighting/effects ect. I've tried to find the modding tools so I can see all this stuff for myself but I must be looking in the wrong places. <_> *sucks*

head over to fearfans and see if its a download. the tools are in a weird spot, like in the mydocuments/public or something.

The first Paxton from the first game will always be my favorite of the 3, even if I love them too.
I remembered seeing the intro from that game for the first time and it sent chills down my spine with
the music and everything that was going on. 
And yeah...I'm kinda of a sucker for older men too. XD

Yeah, it's most likely due to the fact that in 3 he's BATSHIT CRAZY! And I have to admit, he shows a far greater range of expressions in that installment compared to the previous two games.
