Reminds me of the aliens from the Species movies 
I love the story of the slivers! they started as a primal animalistic species then evolved into a hive mind got destroyed and brought back by scientists, broke out and become a simi hive mind under the control of the Overlord and here they are now... each sliver has an intelligent consciousness and awareness of who they are! I reckon they are still a hive mind network they can use to share information kind of like the Geth from mass effect (the more of them near each other the more powerful and intelligent they become)
This could bring in a sliver planeswalker "Oh god" though it would be way to OP but I think they can pull something off like gain sliver tokens, give all slivers :buff: until end of turn, I have no idea what its final ability would/could be.

Not really a fan of these as slivers, i just think that they should stay snakey lil dudes. that being said, i think the art is ABSOLUTELY FRIKKEN AWESOME! It just seems more like some sort of phyrexian or Eldrazi thing than the old slivers. Looks absolutely badass
