Well for the background I didn't want it overwhelming the main figure. That's why I tried to make more, ah, loose? Also I was back to working on regular printer paper (I ran out of sketchbook and have yet to get a new one.) so that threw me off in the painting of it. You can see the background better in the sketch, also all the dumb original characters I 'hid' in it because I'm a D-O-R-K.
So sorry about that. I'm glad you still like it.

whenever I do backgrounds I do have a tendency to overwork them to death.

I had such fun with his face.
The background is actually to be of all the puppets and dolls that he seems to keep around. I had fun with it beacause I 'seeked' a bunch of my original characters in it. there's more info if you click on the link and see the original sketch. Lol I sound so self pimping xD
