Description
After the first battle with Sigma, Vile was left for dead in Sigma's fortress. His hatred and rage toward X was so intense that he was able to summon a ring from the Red Lantern Corps, which restored his body and upgraded him to a member of the Red Lanterns.

Like Mei, Vile as a Lantern is capable of creating light constructs from the ring in his hand, though unlike his fellow Red Lanterns Vile does not create simple sharp objects such as knives or swords. He has been known to create complex machinery and weapons all just to revel in chaos.

He is loyal to no one even for Atrocitus, preferring to do whatever he can to get back at X. More often than not, his superiors in the Red Lanterns have to reel him in just so he doesn't go on an unneeded killing spree.
