I can say that I have handled that cannon in real life and it is ver well built

No, I don't know her, but I can prolly say that the easiest way to make it would be either PVC + cardboard, or perhaps a cardboard tube even. I didn't get a chance to hold it, so I don't know how much weight she was lugging around, but the lighter the materials you could find, the more likely it'll be that you'll want to carry it around XD. The boxes on the end could possibly be shoe boxes or even tissue boxes.
