I don't usually paint traditionally because I've never gotten the hang of watercolors, acrylics and oils. But at the age of now 28 I've found a sort of relaxing tranquility in painting with a brush. So why not try to master the brush to some degree.This is a portrait of the beautiful model Cara that I found on instagram, she looked so bad ass that I had to paint her. Failed quite a bit on the likeness part but its only my third attempt with a brush so far. I screwed up big time on the jacket and saved it with my markers haha... Live and learn!
Tools: some cheap panduro brushes, cheap watercolor paper of some brand I've never heard of and copic warm grey markers

This piece has a captivating intensity that immediately leads the viewer into the portrait's eyes. Also there is a haunting resemblance of an emotionless curiosity that reflects the viewers own emotion! Red lips, bring in the passion of finding out which emotion is dancing around the portrait. Very good work with the tools used! I like how the eyebrows attract the attention for the other elements in the work. I think to myself "This person is visually asking me what mood I am currently in". This art deeply impacts the way someone is searching for their emotion in the moment!
