LOL! Too true! I really have no excuses with this little guy though. He was stomping his way towards me in an effort to chase me away from his girl friends. The dip he took in that shot took me by surprise - I guess to better see his oh-so macho red feathers. If this shot hadn't blurred too I'd have a real award winner. [link] He was funny...but much to fast for me.

Haha, I know the feeling of an animal just being too quick! I was trying to photograph penguins and seals yesterday - man, those things don't stay still for a second (at least in the water). 
Yeah, that would have been an awesome shot - shame about the blur.

Usually they keep them pretty tucked in, but in this case I was meant to be impressed and intimidated by his awesome red fluffy bits.

I truly do love this, you caught him in an amazing action pose-- but to be hones, I don't like the limited Field of View on the grains of the wood. The only other two things are that the eye seems to be a bit out of focus. And what's underneath the chin?

I'm not sure what he has under his chin...maybe an errant weed. I agree with you on the rest. He was a quick little bugger and I am NOT quick with the camera. I'm working on it though.

Thanks - know what its like to be swamped - keep chipping away but only seems to go up.
I don`t mind teenagers most of the time - its the knowitall ones who tell me I`ve called it the wrong animal/bird or how I should have taken it that get me - usually don`t have anything worth actually putting on in their own galleries just camera-phone shots or scribbles on lined paper!
