I was looking through some of my older stuff and came across this. This was something I made a few years ago for an art contest from Dreamwave (boy, does that bring back a lot of memories!), and I think that it still looks good next to my newer art. The aim was to create the ultimate incarnation of the villainous Decepticon leader Megatron by combining aspects of previous versions. I decided to make one by combining different design cues from Megatron's RID, Beast Wars, G1 and Energon into one whole. The contest winner made theirs a combiner made up of ALL Megatron toys up to that point. XD Ah well...

This design actually has a semi-workable transformation, converting into a dragon alternate mode. It has the unusual design feature that the outsides of the legs form the wings, while the insides lock together to form the dragon head. I'd have to dig up my old drawings to get more specific information than that.

Looking at it, it's a little rough in places. Nowadays I would probably use the pen tool in The GIMP to fix some of the lineart, but it still looks good enough for what I was doing back then.
