I was Jareth the Goblin King (on the left) again and also organized to be with a 'friend' who was going to be David Bowie... but it didn't work that well. Mostly because said 'friend' was more interested on having people taking photos of her and running everywhere with her boyfriend while I was trudging behind with my tripod, my backpack and the bag with my change of clothes. Of course I didn't ask for help because I barely knew them (I knew her a month or so earlier)... but was it that much to ask to NOT RUN? Apparently yes.
Soooo... in the first hour of the comiccon I had terrifying flashbacks of my toxic friendship with a similar kind of person, who basically used me as a living camera and a servant, I thought of all the times I couldn't have a decent picture of myself taken because she didn't even try to put the same effort I did when it was her time to be the model and I was too kind to stomp my foot because I didn't want to be annoying.
I felt again like that... and basically fled. As soon as possible I dropped this diva and her boyfriend with the excuse of exploring... and the comiccon and my mood instantly improved. People stopped me to take photos with me and I could take photos of others instead of running with my tongue out like a damn dog, so I had a good time.
I never heard this person back after I gave her the pictures of herself in an email. But at this point I don't even care because even if she wanted to organize another couple cosplay I would have politely said no.
You see? Even old dogs can learn a new trick, and I learned that nobody can treat me like a doormat if I don't let them. And this episode also confirmed that I like to go to comiccons alone so I don't have to depend on people and I can do whatever I want, whenever I want.
I really dislike this picture, I look like a fat pig in a wig because I didn't have much time to instruct the boy, then go to look at the screen, go back in position and pose again. But I still post this until I manage to find a stranger who will be on theme with me.
