To be honest I've never looked too much into Pearl but there are actually some really fine moments in the show where she stands out to be such a pretty and rather amusing character for the gems.
That itself is presented all to well here with your work Illzie , clearly you have a liking to Pearl that far surpasses her look and design from the show alone. For starters though a brilliant job on touching up her already pretty thin design with something with alot more realism and depth to it, especially considering when looking at the eyes and the hair for that matter.
The shot itself is really well taken care of and kudos to anyone who can do close-up shots like this with such precision and care towards a character. That all said think its safe to say you know your way around drawing a very pretty face and I just adore the way that even her big nose seems to fit her cute nature here, just wow. o0o
Speechless as this crab can be when looking at this I must also mention a grand job on the method you went with coloring your work here, its something very smooth and without the classic black outline which actually make Pearl look and feel so much softer to you eyes.
Along with that you do very well to add in detail and depth to her but not so much that you lose track of her charm. By that I mean a great job showing some night lighting and shadowing to show where the sun is hitting her from to even noting the smaller touches like the hair on her face and the shadows they create or the indication of the roundness of the cheeks or the shadow beneath her nose, lol.
Think what makes this work so much is just the simple smile you generated for her and just how her look just brings that altogether. Its a rare time when I have to say you captured the character 100% more then what the show ever could and for that a big hats off to you Illzie . *applauses*
