Description
In the Abbaye aux Dames, where is lying Mathilde de Flandre, Queen of Nomandy and William the Conqueror's wife.

This abbey and church were built in the middle age when William wanted to marry Mathilde. Actually they were considered by the Church as too close cousins and William as a bastard was not so loved by them. So he asked the favour of the Pope by building the two abbeys (one for Men and where is lying now ; another for Mathilde called Ladies Abbey where she's lying now) and then had the right to marry her.
