Last bit of spamming until next weekend, I promise.Okay, this is seriously unfair. I've been trying for YEARS to make a decent (non-chibi) TREA picture that I'm proud of. I seriously could not link to one where I could say, "Yeah, I really liked that one!"
And yet, with Mal-TREA...I'm more or less pleased with every drawing I do of him, at least at the time. Some of the older ones I'm iffy about now, but I'm still proud of this . And even this! I swear, I think somehow, someway, Mal-TREA is sabotaging me.
Anyway, as you probably guessed, I'm pleased with how this turned out. Still cannot draw backgrounds to save my life, but I THINK my shading has gotten a tiny bit better. And even though it is a pain-in-the-butt, I prefer the outlining in different shades of non-black manually, rather than outlining in black with the pen tool.
Maybe it's just me, but it feels a little more organic. And yes, another title that is "borrowed" from a Vocaloid song . It's somewhat unnerving that all the "yandare" songs fit Mal-TREA so well. Not surprising, mind you, but...

I don't know if the latter would help with clothing, although they do have those new spill resistant ones. Maybe Mal should look into it.

(That would seriously be just.... afhasgdhsdfghfaSG The cold, cultured evil of Hannibal, the absolute freedom to murder whoever he pleases, meeting the hard, well defined code of Dexter, so in control and so experienced. It would be a battle of titans.)

(Yes! I think Hannibal v Dexter would be far more interesting a battle. Not that I don't love Mal, but he doesn't play by any rules--at least, none that make sense to us.)

(It really would. Both are interesting, but Hannibal's such an iconic figure among high functioning sociopaths- he more or less defined the genre. While Dexter, for his part, is the modern face of the genre to me. And the two of them facing off- I really think it would be akin to season four and the Trinity killer, which was oh so fascinating, with similarities and differences being measured. I think the main difference is that, aside from his compulsion to murder, Dexter is a good person at heart. Hannibal on his side is wholly and completely evil- a sociopath to the core, unhesitant to kill anyone, with no emotional attachments save for his feelings for Starling.)
