A bit of fanart, still in progress. Scooby Doo's gorgeous babes, Daphne and Velma! Have yet to ink and colour. I just want feedback on the gals if that's possible...I know they don't even look like the originals save their outfits, but I was kinda aiming at reinventing them anyway. I think Velma ought to be slightly sexier, in that weird intellectual-nerdy way...she's woefully underestimated by the gang in the looks department. I think I'll do a glam shot of her sometime, but in the meantime, please C&C! You get a

From time to time yesh...but I'm pretty busy right now and I have little access to a scanner, plus as it is I owe people art! *sees the backlog* >_< But it depends as well on the request...if it's for something I"m interested in, I might just damn them torpedos and take it on board too.

I don't think it's all that sexual. Women can hug like that and it's just friendly. When GUYS do it...it usually means something more than friendship. Great drawing!

Just my opinion, but the way in which they are posed gives the drawing sexual undertones. The girls' bodies are too closely placed, and the way in which they are holding eachother could be interpreted to be "amorous." If you are going for a "buddy" pose, you might want to put them standing next to one another, maybe with their hands on the shoulders. You might want to "bulk" Velma up a bit, she looks a little too skinny, in fact, she looks almost as skinny as DAphne. As far as the faces go, that is always a touchy topic, as every artist has their own way of drawing faces. Overall, it looks pretty good for a work in progress. Keep me updated on this one--I would like to see the finished product.

Thanks loads for the indepth feedback! :glomph: I agree about skinny Velma, and get what you mean about their pose...it's interesting though, this is the first time I'm being told it looks like there may be sexual undertones to it. Looks like I'm gonna have to have a closer look at it and give it a rethink. Yesh, I will keep you informed as and when I get round to finishing it!

Another Scooby artist did a drawing one time of Velma and Daphne, and one of the comments she got was "Are they lesbians?" This comment was supposedly induced by the pose that the girls were in. Some people have sick minds, especially where Scooby is concerned.
I hear you about the in-depth critique--very few people give it.
