Description I have been wanting to make her for a while now, but just never had the drive to do it. Well, last night I got on a kick and decided to work on her.

And here she is.

She is a Poser figure but she's not available for free.

Sally hasn't been in any games. Not sure if she is owned by Archie or something so as far as I know there's no models of her out there. So, I decided to make one. I haven't played a Sonic game in forever, though. Mostly, because they make so many, and mostly because I just never have time.

But here she is. Can she get naked? *laughs* Yeah, she can there's feet in those boots. I just rather not show her in the buff... *laughs* Maybe some other time.

Isn't it illegal to create a model based off a property you don't have the rights to and charge money for it not paying the property owners?

It's a grey area. Because if that were true people couldn't do commissions of Sonic or any Sonic based properties and I see a lot of those.

Very cute! Unfortuantly, I don't have the money at the moment,
but I'll save this link for now.

Feet in the boots? That's funny.
In some of the early comic book versions of her, her boots are practically all she wears.

Actually, the Sega CD version of Sonic CD called the pink hedgehog "Sally" in the manual. Also, she did make a camo in Sonic Spinball for Sega Genesis in the first bonus game. There was also plans for her to appear in a game, but that was canceled when it became Sonic Extreme, which was also canceled.

Fan game wise, there's Sonic Epoch Advance and Sonic Nebulous 1 and 2.

May I request a copy? Just to fiddle with. Very nice work. I've seen Renamon and Krystal models made by fans, but I've yet to see Sally (sadly). I guess not many try 3D art because it's more complicated, but that alone makes it more special IMO.

I actually quit giving out my models for free anymore since there's rarely if ever any credit given to me for releasing the model. So, I actually stopped. Although, I do sell them occasionally.

understandable, but at least you have the patience TO model.

I've loved modeling for a long time. (15 years... I think. Might be longer than that, though.) But in the beginning I didn't have time or patience. I would get so ticked off that I wouldn't come back to try for months. T.T

I think part of my problem, I can't find any good tutorials to follow for clothes/characters (both of which I want to make) that aren't video, I prefer text tutorials since, for me, they're easy to follow.

imago3d In reply to NikkiWolf315 [2012-01-27 00:05:16 +0000 UTC]

I don't really make clothes. That in itself is more time consuming than figures. XD I think it's mostly because you have to put them on the character and make sure pieces aren't poking through, and the bending is just right. Creating clothing in 3D for me is much like driving a ten penny nail through your skull... *laughs* A rusty nail...

that's why I'd stick to dynamic clothes for poser: no rigging, no worries

imago3d In reply to NikkiWolf315 [2012-01-27 00:09:13 +0000 UTC]

I never experimented with those. That's where the cloth room comes in I take it?

NikkiWolf315 In reply to imago3d [2012-01-27 00:10:14 +0000 UTC]

yeah, and as intimidating as it looks, it's real easy to use, once you know how. you can use any prop file, or even parts of figures, as dynamic items.

imago3d In reply to NikkiWolf315 [2012-01-27 00:12:28 +0000 UTC]

I think the only reason I haven't tried it out is mostly Daz Studio users. I don't know if it's changed, but I know they couldn't use dynamic cloth a while back. (Or that it didn't work right.) I'll have to check it out sometime. I'm not huge on using Poser, but it's probably actually worth a look.

NikkiWolf315 In reply to imago3d [2012-01-27 00:14:09 +0000 UTC]

yeah, D/S still hasn't changed, you still have to work for Optitex to be able to make dynamics for Studio, and they have better dynamics than Poser, but Poser's are more convenient.

Very VERY nice work here!

Yeah, she's owned by Archie, I still shamelessly read the comics heh. Her roboticized form is rather badass looking (And yeah boobs have shown before even in the comic, they just get away with it by not showing anything Specific on them.....heh)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

imago3d In reply to Squall179 [2012-01-26 22:24:18 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I was wondering about that. Since Sally hasn't been in any games I figured Archie just didn't want to give her rights up or lease her out or anything like that.

*laughing* Yeah, I guess it's because she's not showing nipples or anything like that. Although, if they were going to censor it... Technically, Sonic is running around butt naked all the time. XD
