Overdue redesign of my old RM (my freaking 2nd one actually),Β Lens.First, most obvious change... he's got more points of articulation now. Gave him an actual head and an arm for the giant scope. Maybe he'll get a fighting chance now that he can actually move. Second, I dialed down on the knobs. Well... there's still a lot, but there's some variety now at least, so it won't looked overused. Third... I change the scope design. The lens is bulged now. Now I think it looks like it can collect light from a wider angle now, even though it's probably not how it works.
Speaking of light collection, I'm going back to my original idea of there being some sort of super high tech black hole type light collector on his scope. That way, he can fight without being too constrained. He'd still need a lot of light though, just not direct sunlight. Also... might make for some cool weird effects, with some gravitational lensing going on around him. Or maybe even total darkness around him before he fires his weapon, for fights not unlike MM4 Wily Capsule .I still don't have a background story for him though. I was thinking he sees some mind bending stuff in space, and decides to teach humans a "lesson" or something. I don't know.
Basically he's an unstable son of a bitch (not because of the giant scope arm)... who gets nudged into running amok and destroy stuff, maybe even kill a lot of people.Hope you guys like it!

That was one of his prospective names. Well... it's more Scope Man to be exact. Someone else I know has a robot with that name, so I changed it.

I love this design, I think Iβve never seen something like this. The best part is the contrast with the huge telescope arm and the slim body. Talking about the big arm, I should probably try out some concepts. Great work man, great work

His telescope is used for both. He used to use it for space observation, but now uses it as a weapon It's somewhat based on this concept: [video] [video] , but more deadly because science(?).

Haha yeah. I like thinking up convoluted, semi-logical lore behind my stuff, but that's just for some extra flavor and only done when it fits. It's still more important to do what you like IMHO.

I had an idea for a 'lens' based Robot Master one. I tried a design like this initially, but couldn't get anything I liked. I also tried to do a more 'humanoid' design that carried around a large magnifying glass as a sub-weapon.Β In the end, all I have is a half finished sketch that I abandoned years ago.
You went with something similar to my first design, but you absolutely nailed it. Really liking how this re-design turned out.

I never really fleshed out his design enough to showcase anything. He was supposed to be part of the group that you can find in my gallery from a while back. There were a few others that I never fully fleshed out.

He looks badass! I like the Megatron-esque scope gun idea, that's a really neat concept when paired with the light refraction/reflection gimmick!Β

It's a bit of both- Megs' Fusion Cannon operated as a scope in gun mode, but also as a devastating weapon in robot form. I like how you've used that concept for Lens here, it is evocative without being derivative, and suits his telescope theme very well. (As opposed to giving him a super elongated head or something equally silly, haha)

He doesn't get enough love. This is a great redesign, the changes are great and he's still very recognizable with them. I'm especially digging the torso and that little knob. I want to turn it. xD
Seems like he'd be a very intelligent guy, like a really elite astronomer. He also gives me the impression that fighting him would be like fighting a sniper with a very precise heat / laser rifle.

Well... he's not a girl, AND he's not cute. Even I haven't given him love. And careful with the knobs, he'll fall apart if you twist them out.

Hahaha I'm an equal opportunist, girls do get the most love easily but a guy can be cute too! I mean, he has a pretty cute head for a tall robutt guy. I really like him, pretty legit design. *Turning the little knob in his torso cause it's just too tempting not to.*Β Β

Yeah, I guess guy RMs can be cute and charming too. Though from what I've seen... it's the cooler / pretty boy ones that get the most attention. Either them or the girly looking ones. If only I could make that shota bot riding a power armor RM I was planning work.
And please don't touch that knob. His upper body will fall off.

He's a neat one. I seem to recall one of the Dark Men having a dark weapon, but I think I may be wrong. Seems like ya got some development to do on that killing amchine backstory.

LOL yeah, Cage would actually be the more talkative of the two. But no way he'd be intimidated by Len's size. If you count his ship, Cage is much bigger than anyone.
