Description I don't give a damn what the critics said about this play. I saw it December 2010, in New York City. I loved it. A fitting tribute to the wall-crawler.

I only had three problems with it:

-I heard that a lot of actors were injured. I think they could've avoided that.

-I only saw the original version, where Spidey beats the Goblin in the first act and he returns with the Sinister Six in the second. But, in the end, it was revealed that Gobby's comeback and the Six were all just illusions of the true villain, Arachne. Now, I'm hearing that they rewrote it so Gobby was the main villain. (Which is a huge improvement)

-No Harry Osborn. (After all, a major part of the Spider-Man mythos is the supporting cast) But, I'm past that.

First reason I like it, the music was great. I loved "Bouncing Off the Walls", "I Can't Just Walk Away (Say It Now)", and "Boy Falls From The Sky". Every time I hear "Rise Above" on the radio, I have fond memories of this show. "A Freak Like Me Needs Company" and "Sinistereo" had a dark feel to them that i just loved.

Second, the aerial fight was just epic! Seeing Spider-Man and Green Goblin grapple in a one-on-one battle above the Chrysler Building was just awesome. When I saw it, there was one part where Spidey, while jumping around, landed right in front of me! Yes, it was only for a split-second, but he was RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

I though they portrayed the characters very nicely. Spidey's costume looked very nice. I noticed Green Goblin seems to be a cross between classic and Ultimate: a non-Hulk physique and Pumpkin Bombs, but no costume (that Goblin-ness is all him), no glider, and an origin much like Ultimate. And am I the only one who thinks Swiss Miss has a lot of potential? They should bring her into the comics.

I also loved how the β€œGeek Chorus” (at least that's what I here they were called) discussed whether the spider biting Peter was fate, a scientific probability, or just dumb luck.

Anyway, the play was awesome.

Character property of Marvel Comics. I own nothing.

I heard the rewrite lifted so much from the movies that Sam Raimi deserved his own writing credit.

I know that once the Goblin shows up, it suddenly becomes a very different story.

I've heard some of the songs and I agree they are good. I have to find a link where I can see the full stage show.

I'm planning a spiderman reboot called 'epic spiderman' and I might include Swiss Miss...If I can make a backstory for her.

Yes, I also think Swiss Miss has potential.

I haven't seen the Musical but from the Songs I've heard & the synopsis on Wikipedia I really hope it comes to my home town!

My only real problem is Lizard being part of the Sinister Six it sort of clashes with the character's back story a little :/

Yeah, the soundtrack is great.

So does the inclusion of Carnage. But, he's been in an anti-Spidey group before. Like when Gobby broke him out of jail to be part of the Sinister 12. But I agree, it doesn't make much sense.

I've only really grown up with the Films, Ride at Universal, Orlando & the occasional Action Figure but since the 2012 Amazing Spider Man I've been in a a bit of a Spidey Hype & got wierded out by the inclusion of Lizard but still a great show by the looks of it

I loved the 2012 film. I mean, no offense to Sam Rami, but I just think the new one portrayed the character of Peter Parker better.

More facial expressions, more relatable & more epic when he introduced himself as Spider Man... Couldn't agree more! XD

Yeah.

I found the story similar to Ultimate Spider-Man: Peter getting bitten at Oscorp, Peter & Ben's fight right before he died, the Burglar robbing a random store rather than the wrestling ring, etc.

And I most certainly agree. The show was awesome!

Agree.I back from watching it now and I loved it! I'm not really a Spider-Man fan but it was fun watching. Sure it had some silly moments that had me raising a brow. I wasn't really expecting it to look so cartoony but it's a family show after all. It was entertaining and that's all that matters to me :]
