Great shot, D! Love the DOF, bokeh, the sharpness in the center field, and especially the blue tint - the blue has a feeling of coldness, but the blooming flower contrasts it so well - like a winter-to-spring dawn, which is why I love that you chose this as your most recent featured shot - the title and editorial work so damn well together with the shot. New beginnings...!

The focus is really nice in the certain area near the centre there, but the bokeh isn't too shabby at all either, which seeing as it fills most of the photograph, is a rather great thing. I'm not usually a big fan of colour casts, but for whatever reason here - I really like the blue and coldish feel. It's nice

thanks alot for those comments. i was actually trying to go for a monet look, but then i'm not an artist so i dont think i got what i was hoping for at all, but i still liked the shot...boosted alot of the contrasts and colour hues, with a macro lens i would've gotten a more clear shot, but i like the feel of this as well. plus the macro lens i had access to was just too heavy, not my style at all!
