Previous: warriorsfangirl1920.deviantart…Orion trembled as he looked to the egg.
This was it.
The egg was glowing and shaking.
A small crack.
Then it grew.
A small noise.
A nose.
A snout.
A face, dripping wet and eyes scrunched closed.
Orion didn't even notice the tears until one landed on the shell.
He took the tiny newborn out of the shell and held them in his arms.
They had Rick's colors...but they looked nothing like him.
Their ears were just like his...and so were their tiny baby toes...and the little wings on their back just like his...and...and..
Orion cradled them so gently, overwhelmed.
His instincts told him to put the baby in his pouch, but he didn't.
He couldn't stop looking at them.
"Chii....I'm...I'm so sorry..." Orion whispered, cradling their head. "Im so sorry...that I thought....that they shouldn't be here..."
He took a small breath and looked up at the stars, staring at Orion.
Soft footsteps approached.
He tensed slightly as his sister sat next to him.
He was silent a moment.
"Sis...I'm so...sorry I went back on my word...I-"
"No Rion." Kindle smiled to him, wrapping her wing around him. "You don't have to apologize. They are your child. I'm just happy that you are happy."
Orion sniffed and smiled, looking back to the baby.
His heart melted as their eyes opened slightly, his own eyes looking back before glowing.
"Welcome to the world...Bellatrix...My brightest star..."
Bellatrix is actually one of the brightest stars in the constellation Orion (Thank you Hylian-Rinku for that name idea <3)
