Description Part 1: A chance meeting
Part 2: A little birdy told me
Part 3: Here
Part 4: Accepted

Bird's eyebrows rose slightly and he turned his gaze back to Orion. He had to admit, this was a first. He had met many wyngrew of varying genders, but he'd never met another transgender wyngro like himself. Unable to fight it, he smiled. "Have you ever met another transgender wyngro?" Bird asked.

Orion shook his head and stood up. "N-no...At least...I don't think so." He glanced to his claws. "I...Don't really talk to others....cause...you know.." He pointed to his mouth. "This isn't...who I am..." He said, frowning slightly. "This voice...isn't at all who I am."

Bird nodded slowly, understanding his plight. "It took me a long time to accept who I am, and there's still some days where I don't feel like myself, but I've managed this long." He said with a shrug. "When did you begin your transition, if you don't mind me asking?" Bird asked, eager to hear Orion's reply. He hasn't been this excited about meeting someone in quite some time.

Orion looked surprised again. Sure his sister and Matcha accepted him...but...no one had ever asked about it. And...they completely knew what he felt like... Orion hesitated, then gave a tiny smile. "Well, I was walking to the lake when I was still a wyngling. I wanted to see how my ears had changed, and when I looked in the water i realized then I didn't look the way I felt. And the more I though about it, them more I realized that in my head, I was actually a boy." He said, feeling calmer in their presence.

Bird sat down and crossed his legs. "I started my transition when I was a wyngling too." He put his hands in his lap and looked down at them. "I grew up at The Nook, and Alma was the first one to tell me that it was okay if I didn't align with my assigned gender. After I talked to her I started using masculine pronouns, but..." He trailed off, face falling. "Well... Wynglings can be cruel. Eventually things got bad enough that I switched back to using feminine pronouns. The bullying stopped, but over time I learned that I felt worse when I identified as female than I did when I identified as male, even with all the bullying. Eventually I met friends and everything was okay, but... I know how hard transitioning can be." He explained, quietly hoping he hadn't shared too much.

Orion sat down as well, looking fascinated. "I dealt with bullies too....Though...I was mainly the one...who bullied myself..." He glanced away. "Um...can you....like...look in a mirror?"

"Some days it's hard." He admitted. "Especially with a pouch, but I try to be positive about it. It's really important that you surround yourself with wyngrew who support you and will stand by you."

Orion rubbed his arms. "I try...but..." He sighed and turned his head away. "I...don't know what to see. I want to see a guy...but I know I'm biologically female...but...I don't see a female either...cause I try to look so male..."

"Well it's really dependent on who you're attracted to." He shrugged. "I try to look at it in more black and white terms. Like for example, I'm male and am attracted to other males, simple as that. If that doesn't help don't worry, you still have time to think about it."

Orion looked to the ground before Bird. "I'm..attracted to my female mate. And she says I look like a guy....but..." He sighed. "I...don't know If I see myself that way....I want to...but at the end of the day...no mater how much I say that I'm a guy...I'm still technically a girl.."

"Unfortunately there isn't anything we can do to change who we are biologically, it's just how things ended up... I wish there was a way to change it, but there isn't." His shoulders sank a little bit and his brow furrowed.

Orion sighed and rested his chin on his hand. "I didn't mean to bring you down." He glanced away. "You're right..there's nothing we can do to change it."

"It's okay. It's just hard to think about sometimes." He said with a shrug. "How long have you known her?" Bird asked, trying to change the subject to something more positive.

Orion blushed slightly. "She was my first friend....and the first one to know the truth about me." He said softly. Think on it, he decided that he could use his true voice around Bird, since he knew how it was.

Bird smiled. "That's nice." He allowed his mind to wander back to Harlie and their little family, as well as their not so little extended family that seemed to just keep getting bigger.

Orion smiled slightly. "Do you have a mate?"

Bird looked up to Orion and nodded, grinning. "His name is Harlie. We've been together for a while now, and we have two wynglings. Marble Soda and Bluejay."

Orion nodded, looking to Marble soda. "Um...may I ask?" He glanced away briefly. "Um..if you see yourself as male like I do...what...changed your mind to have a kid?" As soon as he said that his face went red. "B-B-but if you don't want to answer that-I understand!"

From on his back Maso began to gently kick their feet, but it didn't bother Bird much. "Well I've always wanted kids, even when when I was little. My gender had little factor in that. Even if I had been born male and I hadn't been able to carry Marly and Jay myself I would have adopted or gotten a surrogate." He explained with a shrug.

Orion nodded and looked to the ground for a while. "Does it affect how you see yourself?" He glanced up. "Like...when you look in a mirror...do you see you, or...who you are?"

"With all the hormones and changes it was hard, yes, but I got through it." He explained with a shrug. "It was nice to have Harlie by my side through it all." Bird admitted.

Orion nodded and laid the hand on his star. 'Matcha would be there for me...shes always been there for me...' He ran his claws through his hair and sighed. "I've....never actually...talked about this with anyone." He glanced up. "I didn't think...they would understand how I feel."

Bird nodded slowly in understanding and adjusted how he sat so that one of his legs was extended in front of him. "Well I'll tell you what!" He sat up a little straighter and grinned at Orion. "I live in Amber Canopy Acres. You're more than welcome to come by any time you like and talk to me about these sort of things." He proposed, hoping Orion would accept the offer.

Orion's eyes lit up. First with surprise, then joy, then water. He sniffed and smiled and a tear rolled down his face, which he wiped away. "I would...love that....Thank you...so much." He whispered, for once, not caring is his girly voice squeaked.

"Of course, Orion." Bird said, hesitating for a moment before extending his arms and pulling Orion into a hug. He sat there for a few moments, his silent racing thoughts peeking back into his mind's window once again. Had the hug gone on too long, or had it not gone on long enough? With anxiety tugging at his chest, Bird released Orion, but his limbs were stiff and his movements having been rehearsed in his mind before he'd done the action. In an attempt to try and focus on something else than the thoughts that raced around in his mind, Bird turned his crystalline blue eyes up to the star-speckled sky above them.

Orion stared at Bird in shocked confusion. Normally he would have shoved him away, or get angry at him for even touching him. But....Bird understood him...More than Matcha...even more than his sister...then only family he had... He knew how much Orion had to think about. The struggle he was going through. The frustration, sorrow, and confusion he felt so often. He...was different than any gro he had know... Orion looked to the sky for a few moments, trying to clear his eyes. After a few moments, he moved suddenly and hugged Bird tightly, burying his face in their shoulder and crying.

Bird gasped quietly when Orion hugged him, staring down at the dark-colored wyngro with a shocked expression. His eyes softened and he smiled, wrapping his fluffy arms around him, gently rubbing his back to soothe him. He didn't dare say anything for fear of ruining the moment, so instead he just sat there and held Orion as he cried into his shoulder. Bird closed his eyes and gently rested his head atop Orion's, his sobbing slowly coming to a stop, once again allowing the sounds of the night to fill Bird's ears.
