Description Actually quite a while ago i asked allan if i could color this piece and he said it wouldn't be a problem. It was admidst looking at contest entires for a mecha design gig. These came to mind almost instantly. But i didn't want mecha, i wanted stone, and with that in mind i set about coloring. I had a clear idea on how i wanted to treat these iconic image. I looked up some references for this one and ended up scanning an aztec calendar from a kids coloring sheet. Incorporating the calendar into the chambadot background i made was a last minute idea that i think works really well.

Well, the basic concept is an anthropomorphic bird. Which there definitely aren't enough of. And given the excellent shape and incredibly well-done coloring job, it's worth a in my book.

Oh thats fantastic, I love the backround too, yea..though I might nitpick that it kind of competes with the foreground..since its black, and the character is a less saturated brown..
