Description With the news of a possible sequal for the Revolution, this was bound to happen sooner or later I suppose. Kid Icarus was one of the first games we had at home. I used to make armor designs for Pit (I just call him Icarus though...) and that was actually what I was going to do here.... if I didn't get hit with another project that is (in witch I did...) so this is just a doodle that I put some colour on. Strange how growing up with this game makes it ok for me to draw angels without pants.... I really hope they do something about that when the new one arrives.

I know, it's another game character. I'm in a slup it seemes and also working all day. I've just about come up with something, but I can't seem to get enough inspiration... Oh well. It'll come round.

Enjoy and all.

I suppose they wanted more detail in the game. I'm a little confused as to what the redesign means though. After all, they went as far as to make his bow split into knives and his wristbands produce light-arrows. Though I don't have much hope for a new Kid Icarus game at the moment, the ideas they've put into him shows that there's some serious thinking going on.

One of the best Kid Icarus-related pics I've ever seen. Pretty nice way of drawing him. I like the coloring/shading style, and the background alot.

Mmm, Kid Icarus, it was a pretty rare game! I've only seen one copy in my whoooooole life!
Which is messed up, cuz it was one of the best games on the NES. Mmm, sweet, sweet nostalgia. x)
There are some really fine looking brush stroke effects used on the color of his hair and tunic there, looks good!

As the game was released about the same time I was born, I don't think I've ever seen it in shelf form myself. Well, apart from the re-release for advance that was taken away after just 2 weeks. -_-

Actually, there were no brush strokes made here. Everything was made with the smudge tool, a tecnique I've found to be very fun to use.

And yes, nostalgia rules.

Wow, you really used the smudge tool for those neat effects?
I don't think that I've seen anyone else use it so well.

There was an Advance rerelease? I sure would have brought it, if I knew that and was able to find it. xD

A lot of my newer pictures were made with the smudge tool alone. Only works on dynamic objects though.

The advance release: [link]

Couldn't find the english version. It's on ebay though, but I'm not linking to those things -_-

There was also a sequal to the original game on the Gameboy called Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters: [link]

This one feels nothing like the first one. I was pretty dissapointed. Kid Icarus deserves a revival.

Mmm, watching the KI video on IGN there, it makes me feel nostalgic. That's a game that really does need to come back to life, come out of the video game retirement home. I think that I've seen that Gameboy release before, but I dunno why I didn't buy it when I had that chance. Having it would be better than nothing.

Once the Nintendo Revolution is out, they ought to let people download Kid Icarus, I know that I'd do that, in minute.

Kid Icarus should be up for download if I remember correctly. Pit is appearing as a fighter in Smash bros Brawl, so at least he is appearing in something.

There are of course roumors of the original creator working on a revival project on the Wii. It spawned from Miyamoto giving a promise of a revival and later, Kid icarus' original creator joking about using the new Smash bros character for a spin off game.

There's also the idea of making new games for the wii24 download service. Maybe Nintendo could be convinced to make a new game. Sources have mentioned that they are, in fact, making new games exclusive for download, but I'm not holding my breath for a new Icarus though.

Ugh... should really just send in a job application to nintendo HQ asap. Would make it easyer then to guess all the time.

Hehehe, yah, that'd be nice... aaaah, to work for Nintendo, how fun that could be.

Those are interesting rumors you found, I hope that they're true and Nintendo plans to put them into execution. ^__^
Yes, I can't wait to use Pit in SSBB, he shoulda been a character for SSBM back in 2001!

Somehow I seem to recall that game... I dunno how, when and why, but the name tells me something. I recall an NES game like that but it's so very vague >.<

Nevertheless, I really like the position you gave the character, and the style used. The coloring is also well done and catchy!

I'll have to look up more info on that game now

... I did? Heh, I'm not sure how you came to that conclution, but I do have a few ideas on how to re-design him with a little bit of an edge. Maybe I'll do something with it later on.

Well, Maybe not jeans O.o but I wonder how they'll solve it, given the possible 3d aspect of it. After all, they gave Link pants when the 3d version came out for a good reason: A rotating camera... Guess they could give him... err... tights of some kind? Armor? Enlarged boxers maybe?

Hehe, the background is just the paper it was on with enhanced contrast. First time I've tested colouring like this, so I'm glad it worked out.
