Description I had decided to walk with my camera slung round my shoulder with the tripod already fitted to see if it could be done comfortably so I could more steadily shoot any wildlife I passed with minimal fussing. The reason I was out was to pick up a few geocaches along the Papillion creek but I quite often trip over interesting things whilst out doing this hence the camera. As it happened I was jumped by a US Navy E6 Mercury doing rollers. As it turns out, getting the camera unslung and tripod deployed was no faster and due to my haste I struggled to get the ball head to smoothly pan and tilt. This was not quite what I had in mind but gave me a nice fairly clean view of one of these fairly elusive aircraft.

Thank you. I was lucky to be in the right place with the right kit.

Really nice shot!!! I caught one of those beauties going over the San Francisco Bay Area one day at about 36,000 feet heading to Hawaii.Β

Thank you. Yes they do get about a bit but have a habit of being a bit far up lol

Haha, right. I tried looking it up on flightaware/flightradar24 when it was going over, but couldn't get it. It wasn't until I zoomed it in and saw those pods on the wing that I realized it was a E6 Mercury.Β

I shot this with theΒ Β Tamron 150-600mm f5-6.3 DI VC USD. It is pretty nice. Fairly sharp from wide open and throughout its zoom range. Still getting to grips with it myself but I'm starting to like it quite allot.

This review of the Sigma and Tamron 150-600s back to back made my mind up for me. I don't know much about the 150-500 Sigma sorry but I hope my snap helped.
