What kind of job requires you to shower more than 3 times?

You can still get by with showering once or twice a day, most appearance matters at a job. I don't see how showering more than twice a day is normal. Really, unless you are doing vigorous dirty, sweaty physical activity it's not normal. And showering 3+ times a day isn't gonna remove the germs if that's what you're worried about.
Doesn't your skin ever feel dry?

I believe they were trying to troll my opinion since no one in their right mind would shower 3 times a day without a care that of their health or water-bill, lol. I went through their activity before they deactivated and they seemed kinda contrary. It's typical of such a type to not respond.

Same here. I shower every other day and I don't wash my hair in the shower since if I ever tried it would become dry and "poofy" and kinkier and just God forbid. I usually have it washed like once a month since I get it permed each time so it stays clean for a really long time. So I don't have to spend time washing my hair in the shower ^^.
But taking three showers a day? That's just strange...

I shower once every day, I couldn't imagine doing it more than twice. How would one even go about doing that, stopping what you're doing mid-day to take your thirty-fifth shower?....o_o

GrappleMace [2012-09-04 18:13:15 +0000 UTC]
I get one every other day because I stay clean and my hair doesn't get greasy until it hasn't been washed for two days. It's still all nice and shit the day after I take a shower. Sure, if I was outside in the summer and I was all sticky and shit, and I already took one yesterday, OF COURSE I'm going to take another. Sometimes in the summer though I'll go a few ways without, but only if I'm not going anywhere.

I don't understand why someone would need to take more than one shower in a day. I think that once a day is normal.
I don't like taking a shower every other day because my hair looks all gross and stuff. And if I don't wash my hair everyday with dandruff shampoo, it looks like total blagh... I also go to school and stuff, which includes marching band practice, so I feel like I need to shower every day.

It's pretty much why we produce so much oil, because our skin is dry. So it overcompensates and mass produces oil. It might be a good idea to look into tea tree shampoos or other types of shampoos for oilyness. I have oily skin and oily hair too. And dandruff lol. I hate it.

Me too! DX Well, I always dyed my hair lighter so my dandruff was hid, however now I'm growing out my dark hair and I see dandruff, bagh. And back to the oily scalp again since my natural hair is oily as hell. :C

It may be because I'm from Europe, but that is crazy to me. Twice a day? How is that helping your skin? Yeah. hygiene is important but the human race was surviving long before showers came along. I don't like showering everyday cause, 1: I do not have the time and 2: It's actually really not good for you. Your skin needs the natural oils to protect it from infection. Not the other way round. It's the same for lice. They attack clean heads, not dirty ones.

This this this! Yes. I shower every other day. I do because I ask if I smell the following day of showering, which I get a "No you smell okay" by the third day, I've asked, and yes I've smelled offensive. I think every other day MIGHT be doable if you change your sheets every day and pillow cases, lol. And excessive body spray and deoderant.
Your skin does need the moisture. I don't get why people think it's a load of crock that your skin can get dry.

I think it depends on what time of year it is too. I live in Scotland and It's almost never that hot. When it's hotter, the shower more, cause you sweat more.

I find taking a shower a great way to relieve stress, so there are times during finals week and such when I do do it twice a day just to chill, but seriously...more than 3 times EVERY day? That doesn't make much sense to me.

:3 For a typical artist's lifestyle, no work, so being lazy all day won't really work up a sweat. Also, during the "monthly" I agree washing that every day is essential.

Yeah that's what I mean. It really is drying to your hair. People become way too obsessed with cleansing that they think they are getting rid of germs, and being cleaner than thou. But really, it's the opposite. It's so unhealthy to do that to your body. Plus, you cannot escape germs no matter what you do.
The US society today encourages to overdo the hygiene which is very counter-productive. Your hair needs a certain amount of oils to stay healthy. Yes.
Thank you!
