Description ...between love and hate.

Zuko inspired by 's version of him in her comics.

Katara inspired in part by 's complaints about lack of original formal wear for Katara in fanon.

I really love the dynamics of their relationship.

I'm not a Zutaran because of that whole "opposites attract" crap. That's actually a really bad reason for a relationship. And it's not because "omfg, leik, fire + water = steam babies!!" ( always makes me giggle) either.

They're NOT opposites, personality wise. They're actually similar in many ways, but different in a number of them as well, which is what, to my mind, makes them so compatible. Even in their few interactions within the show and canon, you can't deny they have a chemistry. It's the way the characters play off of one another so well. The instant they begin to interact, the whole scene is stepped up and made interesting, and you sit forward and pay attention, because there is something going on here, with these two.

I just like to think that "something" is romance, of a kind. Thus Zutara.

Wow, thank you!! Heheh, glad ya like the poses especially. I was a little worried they might have looked a little too stiff to be dancing, but then again, they don't look particualrly comfortable with each other right here.... so maybe it's okay to be stiff! Yay excuses!

Maybe I don't want to read too far into this fandom if that is some peoples reasoning behind this pairing lol.

I agree with you, with what I have seen, they do play off each other quite well and a lot of what I see in their attraction is their compatibility in moods and the way they express or don't express themselves, not 'opposites attract'

I have a problem with people who claim opposites attract for the Rob/Rae fandom as well...but that is a whole other stories :-P

Again, beautiful work...I feel like a broken record lol.

LOL you haven't heard about the steam babies!? Allow me to enlighten. Since Katara's a waterbender and Zuko's a firebender, a popular (mostly silly) theory is that their babies will be steambenders. *snicker*

Yes! They have such amazing chemistry. The sparks literally fly between them, not to mention the ice chips if one of em loses their temper, haha. And yes, it does remind me a wee bit of the dynamics in the Rae/Rob pairing, probably how I slid into it so seamlessly.

Oh, hush they're not that great. XD That's why they're in Scraps.

That is a sexy dress, and she's dancing with a fan! Awesome!
I like Zuko's hair. This one doesn't have the playful air of 'dancefloor.'
Here they seem to be a little less familiar.
Maybe this is moments before they melt each other's defenses ...

YAY. Heheh, yess, her dress is very sexy. X3 I'm sure it has poor Zuzu thrown wide off his game tonight, heheh.

This was actually contructed around a loose fanfic idea. yet another one I probably won't get to write, but, my, how they begin to pull at me... *sigh* This idea especially keeps coming back and nagging and morphing into something more and more complex, even though it totally started off wanting to do my own version of the cliche postwar arranged marriage plot.

So yes, they're definitely a little frostier towards each other in this scene, and this dance definitely hasn't got the freedom and passion of "Dancefloor". It's more a ceremonial sort of dance, a tradition of sorts, and they're not feeling too friendly towards each other right now. But it's those ups and downs in the Zutaran relationship that makes it half the fun, yes?

HA! Yes, part of the thrill of Zutara is the CHASE! I love the idea of something developing between them. The passion is there ... it just needs to go from adversaries to lovers. I think it would be fascinating to watch. ...and don't get me started on the character development necessary for it to occur.
