Description

This is part 1.1/2 for my contest entry belonging to =Kazzooki for his re:connect launch

(i'll be uploading the tamer, Raven Westwoods sometime next week as humans especially female humans are hard for me and if there is something else that is needed for the profiles, just let me know and i'll add them)

Name – Hachumon
Name Origin – Hachuu, japanese for reptile
Level – Baby/Fresh
Type – Slime
Attribute – N/A
Lineage – Hachumon, Meremon, Ceromon, Trioceromon, MegaTrioceromon, WarTrioceromon
Field – N/A
Partner – Raven Westwoods
Attacks –

Flash – he creates a blinding flash of light, disorientating the enemy

______________________________________________________________
Hachumon is a silent egg like digimon who remains still almost all day, camouflaged against the jungle foliage and fallen leaves. If they do move, they move by simaltaneously moving the spike like apendages at the base of their body. The crystal on their heads emits a blinding light when an enemy gets too close.

Name – Meremon
Name Origin – Kamereon, japanese for chameleon
Level – In-Training/Lesser
Type – Slime
Attribute – N/A
Lineage – Hachumon, Meremon, Ceromon, Trioceromon, MegaTrioceromon, WarTrioceromon
Field – N/A
Partner – Raven Westwoods
Attacks –

Sticky Tongue – He uses his long tongue to lick the enemy, causing a tingely sensation which may cause a mild paralysis

________________________________________________________________________
A reptilian head like digimon with spikes on his crown defend this little guy from unwanted company. They like to eat fruit and insects and will intrude digimon camps when hunger persists, stealing the food under camouflage.

To calm a frustrated Meremon, is to stroke his tail affectionately as it shuts down that part of the brain that causes them to behave in a greedy manner.

Name – Ceromon
Name Origin – Trioceros Jacksonii, latin for three-horned chameleon
Level – Rookie/Child
Type – Reptile
Attribute – Data
Lineage – Hachumon, Meremon, Ceromon, Trioceromon, MegaTrioceromon, WarTrioceromon
Field – Jungle Troopers, Nature Spirits
Partner – Raven Westwoods
Attacks –

Jungle Shots – He shoots the spikes on his arms at the enemy

Chameleon Spear – From his mouth, he shoots out his long tongue that hardens and points like a spear

_________________________________________________________________________
All Ceromon are naturally inquisitive and will investigate thorouly whatever they find, picking them up, sniffing them, tasting them and sometimes chomping down on them to see if they are edible as Ceromon is always hungry.

Their appetite is almost never filled and will end up eating the first edible thing they find regardless if they like it or not.

But despite their never ending hunger and insatiable inquisitive nature, they are very loyal and will not hesitate to stand up for what they believe in. It's this very nature that makes him very important and cherished to his tamer, Raven Westwoods, a young girl who has lived most of her life with half sight.

To Ceromon, Raven needs him more than anyone and will follow her every where just so he can make sure she doesn't get hurt as she has to wear an eye patch over her right eye, being very sensitive to light.

Without Raven, Ceromon wouldn't know what to do with himself and will end up losing his appetite until he is reunited with her once again.

Name – Trioceromon
Name Origin – Trioceros Jacksonii, latin for three-horned chameleon
Level – Champion/Adult
Type – Reptile
Attribute – Data
Lineage – Hachumon, Meremon, Ceromon, Trioceromon, MegaTrioceromon, WarTrioceromon
Field – Jungle Troopers, Nature Spirits
Partner – Raven Westwoods
Attacks –

Jungle spear – He camouflages himself amongst the trees and shoots his clawed gauntlets like spears

Chameleon Charge – He charges the enemy with his three horns, finishing them off with a swipe of his claws.

Jungle Sweep – He sweeps low, knocking the enemy off their feet with his feet or tail

___________________________________________________________________
Skilled in ambush techniques, Trioceromon spends most of the time in the canopy of trees, waiting patiently for his enemy to come near where he will snipe them with his spear like claws.

He still has his huge appetite, but has gained the ability of patience, being able to ignore his hunger until the mission is complete. The gauntlets on his hands are made of a golden digizoid metal that withstands most attacks.

The design is cool, but the Rookie and Champion look like the same exact Digimon in different sizes.

well, you're the only one who seems to have "noticed" a similarity between them both which personally, i can't see.

....REALLY? That baffles me a little. You see NO similarity between two Digimon who have the exact same color scheme, tail, collar, and arm spikes? Aside from his size, there are about three things that keep him from being the exact same Digimon: shoulder spikes, arm guards/gauntlets/whatever, and some parts of his body darkened.

I can understand you taking offense to my comment, but it's not like I said it was bad or anything, and indeed, I DO like the design. I was just observing the fact that the last two listed stages are very, very similar, whereas in Digimon, the vast majority of Digimon look worlds apart from their Digivolutions in terms of appearance. Take the constructive criticism or don't, it doesn't matter to me, but what I was getting at is that I would have liked to see the cool design of the rookie developed a bit more diversely and creatively on evolution.

I also think the Fresh form is interesting, I don't think I mentioned that before.

Believe me, i can take constructive criticism better than most people but what you are saying makes no sense. for one thing, In Tamers, Guilmon, terriermon and Renamon all share similarities with their digivolutions and colour scheme/accessories. Plus, Gotsumon becomes Icemon then meteormon who might i add have the EXACT appearance with different colour schemes except Meteormon who has a similiar scheme to Icemon.

On the plus side, Ceromon's line is chameleon based so obviously the line will share some similarities themselves like the tail for instance.

Hmmhmm... Peopel always bring up the Tamers argument when I say that their fanmade Digimon look too similar to one another. I suppose it has some validity if you're looking through a shorter scope, but those three (plus I suppose Agumon/Gabumon/Gaomon and the like) are the vast minority when you compare them to ALLLLL the other Digimon. Look at Tentomon, for instance: he has a line (or several) based solely on beetles, yet he looks worlds apart from his first evolution (Kabuterimon), and each subsequent evolution has several distinguishing characteristics that define them as a higher life form than the last. Or, look at Salamon, who just has the theme of 'holy', and whose forms are all a completely different type of creature (unless it's the Ophanimon line, but you're still 3 for 4 in that case).

Even if you want to use the Tamers argument, who indeed yes all have very similar color schemes, none but Guilmon use the EXACT same color palette throughout all six stages of evolution, and their stages are at least wildly different enough to tell them apart, and have enough development with each new stage to be able to approximate with relative accuracy what stage of evolution they are (perhaps the only exception being Guilmon/Growlmon, who ARE very similar, yes, but for one, they're by far the minority! For another thing, THEY'RE fan-made Digimon within their own continuity! xD Does that excuse everyone from coming up with creative and variable evolutions for each new stage? I certainly hope not, that'd just be boring, IMO.)

As far as yours go, the Rookie and Champion have significantly less to distinguish them apart from one another than any of the Tamers Digimon do (again discounting size). The champion could as easily be a rookie as the rookie is, because there's no significant amount of complexity that seems to have been gained (this is the main thing people seem to forget about when designing fan-made Digimon... they're not Pokemon that grow bigger as they 'evolve', they undergo TRUE evolution into a (usually) larger, better developed, more complex creature. All I'm getting at in yours is that I'm just not seeing that in the Rookie to Champion evolution (though I'll allow that the Fresh and In-training stages look good for what you're going for, and I can ignore the fact that the color scheme is identical, although it does make it a touch boring IMO).

Y'see what I'm getting at here?
In any case, what matters in art is whether YOU like it. And the end of the day, I'm just some jerk who's trying to tell you what to do, so if you're happy with it, then don't change anything about it. *shrug* End of story.

Way to ignore the Gotsumon line, Monochromon to Vermillimon line and the Mamemon line.

At the end of the day, it is us the creators of our fan made digimon to make them look as "identical" or as different as we want, not for people like you to say other wise.

If you don't like the continuity i use, then you should just keep it to yourself.

I forgot about them.
What you're overlooking about them, though, is that they're a different scenario. Those guys are alt-colored subspecies like SnowAgumon, Weedmon and the like, but for some reason Bandai decided to make them a higher level (BlueMeramon is one of those too). Gotsumon also evolved to Monochromon in 02, who looks nothing like him except for possibly the color scheme-- I wonder how you'd explain that?

Anyway, I'm not sure why you think me forgetting to address that particular case makes your argument any stronger.

As far as continuity and keeping things to myself goes, Digimon has multiple continuities, none of which are particularly consistent with one another, so I like to think that any given Digimon is subject to the same criticisms as the rest. And I've got news for you, my friend-- when you post anything you create to the internet, regardless of what it may be, you WILL be subject to the comments and critique of anyone who happens across it. They're not always compliments, and that's just something you need to learn to deal with.

It's interesting too that you're reacting to me as if I'm openly insulting you (which I suppose you could interpret if you wanted to ignore the compliments I also gave alongside my critique) when you claimed to be able to take constructive criticism-- the purpose of which, by the way, isn't to tear you down, but to help you improve-- but, if you have such an adverse reaction to any sort of criticism, you're probably not looking to improve, just receive acknowledgement for what you've done without wanting to hear anything bad about it, I suppose.

However at the end of the day, you're right, it's ultimately up to you. I said the same thing myself in my last comment. I suppose that's the end of that, then.
Good luck.

1. you're only picking at what YOU don't like. Criticism is meant for tips and suggestions in how to improve, not what you are doing or saying.

2.I don't remember ever sounding like you are attacking me personally.

At the end of the day, if i have drawn something you don't like, then don't look or comment. Simple as that.

I suppose you could look at it that way. The way I prefer to look at it is that I'm encouraging people to exercise more creativity and variability in their fan-made designs... I think it's a shame when people come up with a cool monster design, then let it go to waste by making all their Digimon look like a slightly bigger or slightly modified version of that same exact Digimon. I dunno about you, but the Digimon I fell in love with set itself apart with the incredible amount of creativity and variety among its creature cast. I might not be doing it in the kindest or most considerate way, but that IS typically my goal when I criticize people's fan-made Digimon: encouraging greater creativity. If people don't want to be as creative with them, OR if they've got other work/projects at hand that make improving old works an impossibility, then that's understandable and there's nothing anyone can do about that. But if it's because you think you're being creative and don't want to be told otherwise, that's weak and it means you can't take constructive criticism. I'm not accusing you of anything, as I don't know what's going on in your head, but that IS sometimes the way people think.

And again, you're mistaken. As a denizen of the internet, I have a right to look at, comment on, or criticize whatever I so please. And YOU, being another such denizen, are subject to the critiquing of assholes like me whenever you upload anything, so just be aware of that. You don't have to care what I think, but there ARE going to be people like me, whether their intent is to troll you or to challenge you.

You still aren't getting the point. You are NOT giving constructive criticism but telling me HOW to draw my characters.

What if i want my guys to look like that? it has nothing to do with a Pick-Nicker like you. If you don't like what i say, then put it up your blunt and smoke it.
