Well this fanart is long overdue!! I'm on the 10th book of this series, and so far it's been a fun read. These books aren't the best quality; I think there's way too much going on sometimes in the plot, and if you've read any of them, you'll know what i'm getting at! They're strangely addictive though.

So here we have Anita Blake, Jean-Claude and Richard; the triumvate. Richard's being a bitch in the books right now, so he doesn't really belong with them anymore I guess, but he is part of their little menage-a-trois so meh. I kind of drew this picture a while ago, when in the books things were still cool between him and Anita. JC is awesome XD

The background for this picture is now my favourite part. The traditional version of it looks really crappy - I just coloured the background with red pencil crayon, varying in darkness around the characters. It looks really messy and so I experimented in PS10 and fixed it. I overlayed a Charcoal filter over the pencil crayon, and then I brushed it up with a 300pi brush and then added the darker bits in the corners. I'm definitely gonna try and imitate that in the original version; shouldn't be too hard..
