I MUST have something for angels today... inspired by Neil Gaiman's Sandman... specifically that story where Orpheus goes to hell, literally. Lucifer's very much like a Pontius Pilate, not inherently evil, but because his task is set before him, he exudes an aura of nonchalantness, thus creating a persona of an unaltering, unwavering conscience, even in the face of wrongdoing. PHEW!Or maybe I just think and talk too much...

oh, i saw this on ~photomanipulation or whatever when it was submited (through the main deviantart page) and commented on it, but found out that that was jsut the club, so im just gonna copy my messege over to this one, that i posted on that one:
"not really sure what you mean but i dont agree with the stuff about pontius pilate. pilate is very often question by many as to whether or not he was a " sinner" or "saint". some believe very much that he was a saint. and i dont really get what you mean by nonchalatness, because if he was so nonchalat in the face of wrongdoing then why did he ask jesus so much if he would be wrong in executing him, and was very unsure about it?
maybe you mean something else, so i dont know
a nice peice obviously, otherwise i might have not clicked on it. im trying to pin what it is that could make it better, but nothings coming to mind, maybe a few manipulatons of the overall picture... not sure, nice work"

To tell you the truth, I believe you ahve a valid point. But for me, I guess you could say that, based on all the readings and all the sunday school lessons and everything put together, you kind of start to make up your own theories and beliefs on Christianity. I used to be a devout Catholic, but there's a lot of bullshit going on in the Catholic church. I wish I had longer space to elaborate, but that's just how I feel.
With regards to Pilate, well... for me, the fact that he washed his hands--literally and figuratively-- of the deed, I guess that's where my perception of him being so unfeeling or uncaring came about. But you are right, he did try and reason with the big J...
As for Lucifer in the Sandman series, in the book Season of Mists... well, his attitude was "I don't give a flying f*ck." So, based on your point and these instances, yeah, there is/was a difference.
Anyway, thanks for the comments and the view! I like it just the way it is because I tend to ruin my manips by trying to put more on an image when already it looks fine with nothing else on it. Simply put, for me, less is more.

yes, christianity doesnt even really come alive untill you really start to think about it and explore it on your own.
amazing some of the stuff ive come to believe about it in the past 2-3 years, its really so intricate and theres far more than meets the eye

I agree with you on that point my friend. There's much more to learn...
But in actuality, I guess the best way to really appreciate your Christianity, or any religion for that matter, is to learn and explore other religions as well. It may take a long while, but you could say that it's one of the paths one must take for heightened spirituality and consciousness.
But for now, I'm content to follow the exploits of Sandman... Neil Gaiman is a god in his own right!

Anyway, thanks for the healthy albeit lengthy debate/discussion... maybe someday, when I decide to teach or something (gods forbid) I may delve into a religious whatever... and maybe I'll look you up again for some input.
