Description Just a tutorial I made on a random whim after noticing dA doesn't really have many make-up tutorials for this sort of thing.

This is the same method I used for a cosplay I made and styled for . It's really simple as long as you have the materials. I've always got this stuff laying around because I'm way to passionate about Halloween, but you can buy both Bloody Scab and especially Spirit Gum online from almost any theater make-up store.

Oh and as I mentioned in the tutorial, you can make a home made Bloody Scab by mixing a tiny bit of water with a lot of red food dye, some karo syrup and cocoa powder. The consistency is up to you, but I recommend making it nice and thick so it sticks and clumps up like clotted blood. Easy enough, yes? c:

If you have any questions at all about this tutorial, I'm more than happy to answer them. And remember, I'm no professional. This is just something I made up and played around with~

What did you try to do to make your stitches back then? o3o

I used waxed thread, but cut it into tiny peices and tied it together, and then just glued bit by bit to the skin and painted the rest.. wasn't that convincing, but it grossed some people out. XD;

That does sound tedious. xD

I doubt mine's 100% realistic mostly because stitches don't actually have that straight line running through them, but it certainly beats drawing stitches on your skin with eyeliner. It's more cartoony-looking if anything, but I guess if you wanted realism you could use a transparent string or flesh colored thread instead.

My big thing, isn't stitches, it's decay/rot. It's so easy for me to make, and so realistic, too. ._. Oh god, this is making me want to make a zombie or something. Decay and stitches and and and I'd take a foam tablet and go wandering the trailer park and scare old people into thinking I'm a zombie aaaaaaaaa.

No but really, that sounds like fun. I might do it.

Oh man, that reminds me there's a zombie walk coming up soon in Melbourne. :D

What do you use to do your decay make-up? I have a cousin who wants to do a zombie movie at some point and he's asked me to help with all that. s:

Hnnnngh I wanna go. Ffff--

Well, I was stuck in a break room at Universal at Revenge of the Mummy, and it was around Halloween time. Our manager was like 'you guys can go all out tonight' so we went 'whee' and people started to go nuts with toilet paper wrappings. I thought that was so silly, BUT. I took some toiletpaper and normal elmer's glue, and started to stick it to myself, then ripped it apart into little holes. Then I took some normal paint (like, from a paint set, not even makeup, but I would suggest using makeup) and made it look like I had necrosis all up my arms and on my face.

I scared so many people shitless, lmao.

That's brilliant. oAo

When I was working on make-up for a local theater around Halloween I actually came across the actor who played a corpse. She did something really similar actually, though she used cornflakes instead of toilet paper. That's really clever though. I'll definitely have to give it a try.

Haha, and the walk is on February 12th if you're curious. You said you lived in Florida, correct? o:
